    If he was on waivers they don't claim his contract. At least not how the rules are consituted now. 

    I would imagine that NE didn't pick him up because they don't think he offers anything over the current roster, or they aren't concerned enough about the 3-4 weeks without Jones. 

    How much could the guy pick up, anyhow, in that short time? By the time he was getting solid enough to really be comfortable in the system, Jones and Cunningham would be back.

    The way i understand it is the jags are on the hook for the ramainder of his contract. He plays for the jags (if they dont cut him) till 2015.
