The idea the Patriots needed a coverage linebacker is bogus, we signed one in the offseason, his name is Adrian Wilson.  Also if we can sack people the need to cover shinks a lot.

that makes a team pretty one dimensional on defense if they are just going to use adrian wilson to cover tight ends and running backs whenever he is on the field, sure he is going to do that, and sure jamie collins will too, but to think they dont need a linebacker who can cover is whats bogus in my opinion.

my point is this is a great pick, it makes him a 3 down player, you dont have to take him off the field, he can cover and rush the passer. its up to the offense of the other team to figure out what he is going to do. superb pick imho.

thats what makes this a great pick imho, a young guy who can get at the qb and drop into coverage as needed. multi dimensional 3 down player.

you're right....I was just elaborating....and saying we still need help w/ pass coverage from the DB corps.

i think we needed help getting to the qb, a full season of dennard and talib at corner, and mccourty and wilson at safety is going to help out alot. but more pressure on the qb helps the most!!!

Adrian Wilson automatically provides the coverage on tightends that Rodney used to provide, linebacker vs tightend/slot receiver is always a win for the offense, a safety has the range to make these plays and Wilson has the size to do what our recent safeties haven't, cover tightends.

We need to get sacks!!!  We need to shrink the time opposing QB's have to pass against us.  Pass coverage doesn't happen in a vacuum, coverage only works well when there is a pass rush element involved.  The Patriots have been in the middle to bottom of the league in sacks for a long time now.

We wil have sacks, Jones, not a rook anymore will get at least 20-30 calls this year for the 100's of times is held ..and will be healthy going into the season.

Armstead combined with Colins and Jones will be able to ovewhelm the matchups not to metion Hightower, Spikes, and Mayo if left alone were given the green light more at the end of last season.

How about the instincts of wilson at safty to time a great blitz? and in all of this don't forget Nink, who shown to be very astute at timing his few attempts to cause the most damage.

Think the pats have a critical mass now to rotate in and out to put maximum pressure on the pass blockers and exhaust some OL's.

Like to see one more big DL to punish the OL and help keep 'Fork fresh.

Agreed, if Tommy Kelly stays healthy, and he's been pretty durable throughout his career, we'll bring some heat this season.

right, would want him hanging on me all game.

Maybe Kelly is the type that will get some extra motivation and get back to peak form by playing on a contender.

Maybe Collins will lean to go 100% all the time casue he finally has help. Not seen his films but I bet he was double teamed a lot.

Let's hope that he plays like Jamie "Killer" Collins, rather than Joan Collins.

Wilson will surely help. Even better if Talib can stay healthy. BB sorta tried to get Mayo to the QB, but he seemed to always be one step too slow. Maybe Collins is a step quicker?
