Jarvis Green wants to finish his career with the Saints

Maybe his agent can work out a trade with New Orleans for a draft pick!

Patriots' defensive lineman and Louisiana native Jarvis Green spoke with a Louisiana newspaper recently, and had some interesting comments. He talked about a wide variety of topics, including New England's near-miss in Super Bowl XLII and the success he and the Patriots' had early in his career. He also talked about missing his home state of Louisiana -- especially in the winter -- and tacked on an interesting footnote: “This is my last year with the Patriots. I’d love to come home and finish off as a Saint.” The 30-year-old Green is entering the final year of a five-year contract. And they would be lucky to have him. High char. guy and a good locker room guy. He would be a good fit with the saints.

I am sure they could get some value for him if they were to trade him now....I think he is costing to the Patriots too much as a back-up.  He will most likely not be back next year.  A lot of free agents next year that need to be dealt with

t may come as quite a surprise that Green, the fourth defensive lineman in the Patriots’ 3-4 scheme, lives in a tax bracket far beyond that of Wilfork, who has a cap figure that exceeds $5 million.

No way they give us Vilma for those two nor would we want Vilma. It has been said a million times over the years Vilma is not a fit in a 3-4 defense.

I just read in Reiss' blog that "it would be a dream" if Green retired as a Patriot.  Sounds like his agent or someone close to him got him to recant his story about the Saints.
