Why not? It might be too late in terms of BB thinking a guy who was skipping meetings in Jax might be a pest here, but I don't think so.

We drafted him for crying out loud.  Get him in here for a look and maybe he's your 3rd down DE specialist with Chandler to DT on 3rd and longs?"

    20 career sacks.

"we drafted him"?  So what? The guy was a bust, just like Ron Brace, Jermaine Cunningham, Shawn Crable, Jake Bequette and Jamie Collins.  You want any of them back?

Odds are that he spoke to Bill on the phone and Bill sniffed out that ego and opted not to sign him.

It's better than having an ENTIRE team full of busts.

Yup not much of a team in NY even if you combine the two teams.

I think one of the reasons we let him go is because of his attitude (I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere)...by the looks of things he hasn't changed. Personally I'd give him a shot for the remaining games we have because lord knows we need somebody.

Well, it's after the trade deadline so one wonders if he will clear waivers..

    Colts

    Denver

    Bengals

Are looking for DE. His remaining money for this season is nil. His money next year could cause you dead money CAP issues if you accept his contract by claiming him then releasing him after this season.

I would like to see Jones get some help at DE so no harm in the Pats thinking about Mincey but like I said others will be as well.

I dont think any tean claims him on waivers at this point. Teams will wait until he clears, and then see if they could sign him. His contract next year at over $4M is too risky gven his past 2 years performace and his missing team meetings.

IMO classic case of a guy that got his money at a later age for NFL years ($9M in 1st year salary and bonus) and then packed it in.

No thank you. We have a great team atmosphere and a team with some grit and you want to bring in a lazy malcontent who has been largely ineffective for his role the last two years right before the post season? Nink has been a much better pass rusher than Mincey. I know I get on BB for some of his moves but he's much smarter than to make this one.

I agree.  If a player is worth looking at to bolster the D, they'd be here given the state of it today.
