sooooooooooooooo. they win ONE more game in the postseason and now they will own the division for a decade? THEY DIDN'T EVEN WIN THE AFC EAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rex is a bit like Parcells in that he can come in and get MORE out of players. But his defenses can be adjusted to, and his whole style is gonna wear thin soon, and the booing will start, and the whole ball of cheese will start to stink. We, on the other hand, need to stock up at some spots, and continue to be excellent. The division will always be contested, but by no means to the Jets even have an advantage AT ALL. -

Yes. the jests have potential but, like Yogi once said, "all potential means is that you haven't done sh*t yet".
Let's wait till they actually accomplish something before annointing them as the team of the decade. -

I revived this thread, now that everyone's attention is being turned towards the upcoming NFL draft. Here's a good article on the needs of the Jets: http://www.examiner.com/x-779-New-York-Jets-Examiner~y2010m2d11-Quick-look-at-Jets-offseason-needs -

Well anything is possible. That said the Jests have only won 2 division titles 98 and 02 since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. So I'd never bet on them being the top team of the decade given that track record. -

Well, when the London Jaguars (Jag-you-ares) open their regular season in 2013 on a soggy Twickenham pitch against the Los Angeles Raiders of Anaheim, the AFC East may be up for grabs. -

I don't agree at all. They throw away picks every year, they're older than you realize (Jenkins, Faneca, Woody, etc) and their overrated/expensive rookie QB threw 20 INTs with only 12 TDs with a #1 rushing offense. Not a good recipe. Thay have no WRs, one RB coming back off a blown out leg, Thomas Jones is done, etc. You aren't paying attention to the cap era, the desperation Jets moves in recent years or realizing how well set up NE is right now if you believe this poorly researched article/opinion. -

IMO, the jets will be the jets, the pats will be the team to beat with the phins hard charging on their heels...once brady is done, the pats go back to being jokes like they were for 40 years before hand with or without the hooded, cheat, d bag they have for a coach -

Jets are building a team that will challenge the Patriots but the Patriots are going to get better the next couple years with the moves they have made and will make from 2010 and 2011 through the strong draft positions they have will be the team to beat for at least the first half of this decade. The question comes towards the end of the decade when Brady steps down and we have to replace him. If the team makes the right move there they will have a shot at being the team of this decade as well. -

The Jets' success hinges upon the development of Mark Sanchez. As of right now, you can't expect a monster passing attack out of him - what happened every time the Jets opened the playbook and let him throw? They lost, and were nearly eliminated from the playoffs. In the NFL, running and defense only get you so far. They are keys to winning Super Bowls, but at some point, you have to develop a reliable passing game. The Jets don't have that now, and if Sanchez doesn't become what they hope, Jets fans can look forward to years of drafting in the top 10. -
