WoW!  I did not see this coming!  I am disappointed! While he is no Wes Welker, he has had some good production this season, love the guys attitude and I am sure this crushes him.  Not sure Stallworth will be the answer, I will be curious what the Pats do here.

Kind of saw this coming once they signed Stallworth truthfully. Edelman has been great when he's on the field but I'd take a healthy Welker at $9 a year for the next 3 years over a questionable Edelman at $9mil total over the next 3 years if only that Welker stays healthy (but there are more reasons of course)

When I hear "foot" , its usually bad,  I think ty law...

Anyone see the play where he got hurt...?  Hopefully it wasn't an extra point.

Damn shame but not really a surprise.  And I agree; Pats can't catch a break on the injury issue.

With Houston and SF back to back...sheesh, seems the Pats need a M.A.S.H unit on the field lately.  Will we see the Gronk come back sooner, in a limited role? Plus, add the O-line woes!!  Fortunately, this team has Brady and he elevates EVERYONE.

question is does bb sign both, neither or... certainly thier skill sets are such that neither replaces the other. and we do have demps next year. id like to keep both but.... demps and a wr who can separate would be more valuable than edelman and demps

It is of no concern.  Soon the NFL will be crushed and the Pats will be hoisting the 4th Lombardi.

Hes played well this year but isn't the answer to replace Welker. Edelman is injury prone and will probably miss time every year. Let's hope they keep Welker. The offense will have a tougher time until Gronk comes back, they should get the backs more involved, more screens. Mcdainels is pretty creative and should be able to come up with a scheme.

Time to start converting Demps to WR. Don't really need to add a rb.

Though, 5'7 is probably way too short for a WR. Can be our little McCluster

Re: Julian Edelman likely done for season on IR

Losing both gronk and Edelman is tough.  They represent two major scoring threats.  Edelman doing it on special teams as well.

I don't know how you replace that... Major wake up calls to mcd, Lloyd, Hernandez, vereen, and fells. These guys are all capable but they need to seize the moment this week ... Right now.

No more riding the coattails... This week its about you guys.  Welker will be Welker, BUT YOU BETTER HOPE HE DOESN'T GO DOWN..

This is mostly on mcd... He needs to game plan these other guys into the mix starting now...  Double the drills get these guys ready and open up the playbook.  Hit the ground running and pounding the ball and hit some quick ones to Lloyd and then Hernandez over the top.  Attack the flats with quick outs to Lloyd and swing passes to vereen

refrain from going spread . Maintain the run threat with all backs and play action to tight ends fells and hernandez.

I expect Houston will be a tough team to move the ball against unless pats offense gets aggressive and creative using different players this week.

maybe Vareen can be phased in as a reciever type.
