    Not even close.  Wins and losses are part of the joy/disappointment of being a fan.

    But, here are some truly terrible times that come to mind (some before my time):

    Death of Harry Agganis

    Beaning of Tony Conigliaro

    Career-ending injury to Darryl Stingley

    Death of Len Bias

    Death of Reggie Lewis

    Remember the episode of Seinfeld where George is talking to one of the Yankee players about how with all the Major League teams flying around during a 162-game season, statistically, there's bound to be a plane crash that wipes out an entire team sooner or later?

    Think about that while you're thinking about this, and maybe it won't seem so bad.
