just a COINCIDENCE the Pats are among 9 teams picking up 4 or less FAs since 3/11?

seems interesting to me.. look at that list.. other than salary cap-helled cowboys and draft-overloaded Rams, everyone else on that list made them playoffs last season. tells me what bb the GM is doing should continue. no neeed to panic and overpay. believe pats had the youngest core D entire NFL last year esp after we had to hold the mayo and not use a (wil) fork. those youngies should make major leaps, as will chandler the jones, jamie collins and others of that ilk. plus, due to confidence, we can now draft with confidence to plug in holes or find long term successors for vince down the road. the draft is like a luxury item for the pats.

You don't build a team through free agency.  You build a team through the draft and fill some holes in free agency.  The list of teams with the most signings and the least amount of signings speaks volumes.

The Patriots are one of only 32 teams in the NFL since 2002.  CONSPIRACY?  And what's with these private owner's meetings that the PATRIOTS attend?  SOURCES say they are making self serving business decisions.   Thoughts?

I dont think anyone on this board disagrees. the disagreement has been over the number of free agents the Pats have brought in that have been over the hill, simply not good enough, or injured. what was it last year, 10 free agents signed that were not their own?

Amendola, TGreen, Hawkins, Jenkins, Jones, Kelly, Svitek, Tebow, Washington, AWilson.

The prior year was even worse.

Carpenter, Stallworth, WAllen, Gallery, Lloyd, Scott, Cole, Gonzo, TWHite, Gregory, Harrison, GWarren, Gaffney, Addai.

no one is clamoring for Mario Williams or that type of signing. BUt there are holds to fill, and the amount of money wasted on these free agents is sickening.

Patriots are probably getting back more players from season ending injuries than any other team though which should be consdiered a factor.  I expect another move or two before the draft, then the draft, then undrafted free agents, then cuts from other teams.  Still many moves and additions to be done before the start of the season.

^^^This...The Pats had the second highest percentage of payroll on IR last year.  The only team worse off than that was the Rams.
