Who really knows which of these will be better. Wilson fits Belichick's MO. Aging veteran with a solid track record. The issue is that it every time he's done this the past last half decade, the acquisitions haven't worked out.
RESPONSE: Stop babbling!! "The issue is that it every time he's done this the past half decade, the acquisitions haven't worked out." LOL!!! What "aging veterans" are you referring to, whom the Pats have brought in during the past 5 years? Other than Sean Springs back in 2009, there's none that I'm aware of. The issue here is that the Pats signed a 33 year old relic...when 28 year old Bernard Pollard, who led the SB champion Ravens in tackles last season, was available.
Regardless, the pats have a good enough core b/c the personnel choices have been solid enough.
RESPONSE: Again...you show your ignorance! The Pats' secondary sucks. It sucks precisely because of the poor personnel choices that BB has made. The Pats' #1 draft choice in 2007, FS Brandon Meriweather, bombed...and is a Redskin, only by the grace of taking a recent pay cut. CB Terrence Wheatly, the Pats' 62nd overall pick in 2008, is out of football. Injury prone SS Patrick Chung, the Pats' 34th overall pick in 2009, couldn't cover a jar of jelly. He's now an Eagle. CB Darius Butler, the Pats 41st overall pick in 2009, was awful. He's was released and, I believe, is still with your Colts. The Pats' 33rd overall pick in 2011, CB Ras-I Dowling, can't get on the field due to a littany of injuries. The Pats 48th overall selection last year, safety Tavon Wilson, appears to be nothing special. By the grace of God, BB scored Aqib Talib for a 4th rounder last year...and Alfonzo Denard in the 7th round, last year. Talib is an UFA. Denard may face a jail sentence...or at least a league suspension.
The question is, however, are their current choices/decisions the difference between just going to the playoffs and winning the superbowl.
RESPONSE: Do you see 33 year old relic Adrian Wilson, who was being phased out of the Cardinals' "D" last season, as the answer at SS? Or, would 28 year old "Brute Bernand" Pollard have been a better cog?
Tom Brady, nearly alone, will get the pats to the playoffs, especially considering the bumbling others in their division, but do these decisions make you think they are going over the top or just treading water?
RESPONSE: No way that the Pats will sniff another SB until they fix their secondary, and find a consistent pass-rusher.
TP - sometimes you are an idiot just for the sake of it, but hey its your world, but lets see -
Springs, A Thomas, Galloway, F. Taylor, Crumpler, Moss (2nd time), W Allen, Stallworth, Lloyd (if they don't keep him), Ocho, Bodden, Haynesworth. That ought to do it.
Talk about idiots...we're talking secondary, fool! Will Allen didn't even make the team Bodden was in his prime. Stick with your Ponies...or that Horseface. Leave discussions about the Patriots to Patriot fans, who have some idea of what they're talking about.
We're? You mean like you and me? I could care less how smart you think you are, you are neither smart enough to read my mind, nor apparently smart enough to get the obvious gist of my comment. Belichick's got a history of bringing in older players. They generally haven't worked out. I apologize to the rest of the board for having to restate for the challenged a comment that was simple and easily understood. Consider the source.
