Lawrence Taylor arrested for rape of minor

The former New York Giants linebacker was taken into custody early this morning by the Town of Ramapo police after being accused of raping someone in the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, north of New York City, WCBS said.
Ramapo Detective Lt. Brad Weidel told the AP that Taylor, 51, hadn't been formally charged. He said charges will be filed when the police investigation is completed.
The Journal Newssays the alleged victim is a 15-year-old girl who was beaten. The Journal News also says it has learned Taylor will be charged with third-degree rape, which involves intercourse with a minor.

I was just going to start a thread on this. L.T. is skkrewed. I can hear his quote to the press already. " I was setup like a Mother F#$%ker". With prior convictions he's going away for a long time if he gets convicted and I don't know any judge except for in Vermont that will be lenient on him.

The way the accusations have been flying lately, I'm not gonna convict the guy just yet. I couldn't stand him as a player and hated him even more with his off-field antics but I'll reserve judgement.

The victim is a 16 year old runaway from the Bronx, she was brought to LT by a plmp(Davis) who assaulted her prior to being with LT. LT paid her 300 dollars.
LT is charged with 3 degree rape.

It seems this girl was a hook.er...albeit a pricey one. So I doubt she was a "crack ho", as the crackheads can't look good enough to make $300 a whack! It also said her bruises happened before she went with LT. Still, the man is 51 years old, he should know better. For that kind of money (and with his bank account) he should be having girls sent in from a reputable agency. Less likely to catch something, and surely avoiding an embarrasment like this! I guess that's what happens when you think with your "small" brain! The "rape" designation is only statutory, though it may be a felony.

I have no doubt that there's a wonderfully tragic story that explains in painstaking detail all the unbearable horror this fine young woman endured that, ultimately, led her to a life of prostitution when she might otherwise have grown into a perfectly functional fairy princess, but it might surprise you to know that 16 is actually the age of consent in 29 states, 10 of which have no age-gap provision (including Massachusetts) -- and, indeed, it hasn't been very many years since 14 was considered a perfectly marriageable age, even **GASP** to a much older man.
Now, none of this is designed to excuse Mr. Taylor's misanthropic behavior, and I certainly do not conscience abusing ladies (or girls, if you prefer) of the evening, but arbitrary age classifications aside, I think once you take the money, rape kind of goes out the window.

Being retarded is not the issue here. THis man raises some very good points. In the 1970's it was very common for girls 14 and 15 to be married and being pregnant. All of a sudden now girls 17 are considered unable to decesions considered legal as far as sexuality, but if the government feels the desire, they can take a 12 year old and legally try them in court as an adult. It's a sad day

Believe it or not 16 years old is Legal in Mass now. They lowered the age a couple of years ago. Maybe we were looking to lure in some good Linebackers with Bruschi and Vrabel getting old.
