Loss is John Foxs fault NOT Jugheads...

Per Denver Post as they took knee with 30 secs and 2 TOs left - the Manning apologists are already lining up!

Get ready because there'll be alot more of that this week.  ESPN and the NFL Network will probably burn Fox in effigy for "not allowing" Manning the Great the opportunity to score.  Thing is, Manning had plenty of opportunities, and turned the ball over several times.  But hey, that wasn't his fault - Fox ordered him to turn over the rock.

Manning threw the interception. Fox decides to go with a coin flip. 90-10 on Manning

It's the safety's fault.  You don't let someone behind you in prevent D.  Especially with seconds left in the game, with the lead!

    What number was Fox wearing?

The Defense gave up 500 yds, can you get your head around that, 500 yds.

Denver's D Backs had brain cramps all day, the Safety allowing the receiver to run by him that late in the game was simple stupidity.

Denver had 3 turnovers (should have been more) in a playoff game.

    Yup, Fox suks......

Blame Fox or the Safeties for bad plays, but at the end of the day, Peyton is the one who turned the ball over to the Ravens DB in OT on the Ravens 40 yard line when he could have thrown the ball away.

That was, arguably, the game losing play. Not the 70 TD the safety gave up to TIE(!!!) the game or Fox playing it conservatively. It was Peyton's bonehead INT.

It was a team effort in losing. The run play on third and long with a miinute or so left was the worst, IMO. That was just as wimpy as the decision to take a knee. Sure it was third and long, but at least try for a first down. The best way to not let the other team score is to hold onto it.

I think Fox made the wrong decision.  Bellicheck went for it in the SB, against a better Rams team with basically a rookie Tom Brady and you don't go for it against a tired Ravens teams at home, with nothing to lose with a proven hall of fame QB in Peyton Manning?  If you don't get anything with the first couple of shots.  You just take the knee then.

Taking a knee with 30 seconds & 2 TOs is ridicuolus!! Especially with a HOF QB that is supposedly going to be MVP. If you call plays like a scared school girl in the playoffs, you deserve to lose!!

Watching horseface lose is just so enjoyable.....I like it (almost) as much as watching the Pats win....

I don't really put the loss on either the Horseface or Fox. The Ravens were clearly the better team. But for two kick returns for TDs, Baltimore would have won easily.

Isn't special teams a part of football?

    In response to zbellino's comment:

It's not the first two picks, but the last one was ugly and unclutch. In sudden death OT, you have to reign it in. A turnover at that part of the field ends the game.

Terrible situational football, terrible execution of a pass outside the pocket (Manning is terrible if you make him move), terrible decision to release the ball.

Taking the sack, fine. Throw the ball into the dirt, you are outside the pocket. It's not intentional grounding.

    Just choking.

As far as who contributed to that loss, certainly not special teams, or most of the other offensive players, Hillman (who ran like a man possessed) included.

Yeah, the defense let up a TD. Then again, they also had to protect the field close to 15 times, which does make 38 points a little more palatable. But yeah the over the top TD was inexcusable.

Still, when you get a running performance against the Ravens like that from Hillman, and two special teams TDs, not only at home but in Denver (maybe the toughest place to play on the road in the NFL) you would think Manning would be able to deliver.

Then again if you watched his whole career .... you would assume he wouldn't as well.

    ZB, stop sugar-coating it, LOL!

Ok so a one and done by manning again.   A one and done by luck.  Indy tosses manning aside like an unwanted gf.    Who really won?   Manning washed up? Luck sophomore slump?  Must have been hard to have 2 teams to route for and both get bounced.   Oh wait you could be from ny and have all 3 teams not even make it.

a fumble or int would of ended it for denver if they took a chance to go for it with only 30 sec left and 2 timeouts at their own 20. the coaches job is to give their team the best chance to win, and i totally agree that going to overtime gave his team the best chance to win. but the choke artist threw a horrible int, thats on the player, not the coach. a football game is 4 quarters minimum. denver had plenty of chances to win it and they didnt. to blame a coach for taking knees at his own 20 is ridiculous.

Getting old I guess, and too much old school as well.

To me, what happened in overtime was pointless. The game was already lost. If Caldwell was any kind of a coach he would have come out firing more often rather than run Rice twice then pass once and could have ended Denver's season sooner.

The Ravens looked old and tired the last weeks of the season. Denvers Defense failed to show  up and gave Flacco and the boy's 500 yards of offense.

Once Manning knows he needs to score or lose he does wing the ball a bit too much. But so do many other QB's.

The Denver D cost their team in this game long before Manning throws that dopey pick in the second overtime.

    IMHO

Yesterday everyone claims Manning calls all the plays and runs the offense, today they blame the coach for calling the plays.  Same old excuses.

But next year the media will be back on the Manning bandwagon.  10 years ago Manning choked it away with one of the most talented offenses of all time and by the next year he was once again the favorite to win the SB where he choked it away again.  And again, and again, after the pick six in a SB I figured the media might have figured out what we all did- he can't play under pressure.  But the next year they were back to predicting Manning in the SB.

Get ready to hear how Manning will win the SB this time next year as the media once again forget everything.

Fox can't be responsible. I mean he's only the coach. Players executing is all that's important to this easy game of football.
