Mallett needs to play more...he should have been put into games more often last year. What if Brady couldn't go...Mallett is not ready.

Throwing him into a game like the Steelers could get ugly...in this case Brady at 80% is indeed better than Mallett at 100%

Can the Pats give TB the week off against the Steelers and win this game with Ryan Mallet? After seeing Brady's right hand last week, I was amazed he was able to grip the football let alone throw a pass with any velocity.

I don't know if Brady's hand can be injured any worse by continuing to play but don't want to take any chances. If the Pats get by the Steelers, the bye week is next which would give TB three weeks between Miami and Caolina.

After seeing Mallet at Arkansas and preseason games with the Pats, he appears to still have accuracy problems. He can hit receivers between the numbers or sail a pass 5 yards over their head. If the Pats can get RM to be a game manager this week and not have to throw the ball 40 times, they should be able to get by the Steelers.

I've seen that Brady has had full participation in practices this week but could that be BB throwing everyone a curve ball (laying in the weeds maybe)?

The Pats need TB as close to 100% as possible by the end of the season. Wondering if the coach is having any of these thoughts?

Mallette does not have accuracy problems nor any other problems...Bill Bellichick drafted him and thus he is the greatest back up in the history of football and better than the starter on all 31 other teams. Just ask Rusty

I would start Brady. Let's say the Patriots are leading 21-0 by the end of the half and the defense is playing stout.  Give Brady rest? Sure, why not.

However, let's say Brady's performance/mechanics is being affected by a hand injury - sure, why not replace him with a healthy QB.

The decisions that would be made in the case of either situation, depends a lot on what the coaches see in practice. For instance, what would you do if your "injured"  QB looked distinctly better than your healthy back-up in practice all week long?

Where is this hand thing coming from? It sure looked like Bradys hand was fine in the second half last week-you would think his hand would get WORSE in the second half and Brady himself said the hand was fine. Can Anyone bring a RELIABLE source that confirms Bradys hand is injured-if not enough already!

He (Polian) said that "Dan Reeves taught him that 80% of an injured player is never better than 100% of his replacement".

    GREAT POINT to ponder!

This is the Pats forum-there doesn't need to be a reliable source, remember?  Everyone here works for or is a player on the Patriots.  Thus, everything that is written here is the 100% truth, straight from BB's mouth,  Thus, if it is said by a member here that Brady got HF on his hand, then it's true!

Watching the game (eyes) and listening to the announcers (ears) are two reliable sources.

Simms and Nantz are about as reliable as Haldeman and Erlichmann.

I take it you have a telescope that allows you to see said "injured hand".

It's called HD TV. Call your cable company and get this installed. You'll be better informed.

I suppose you can also see the O2 binding to his hemoglobin as well.

Maybe in a few years. ZB had some defintive pictures of Brady's hand on page 2. How about getting the cable upgrade and then making an appointment with an optometrist?

Is it better to sit Brady this week and maybe lose or to have him closer to 100 % by the end of the year? No game has been easy this year even with TB at the helm.

If you can have a healthy TB for December does it matter if the Pats can win their division at 10 - 6 versus maybe 12 - 4?

I'd rather have Brady at full strength for the playoffs and play a road game or two than have 2 - 3 home games with a sub par TB.

Troy Brown has officially joined the dark side. This is a tweet from last Sunday.

#PatriotsTalk On Halftime Time on http://CSNNE.com , Troy Brown calls for Ryan Mallett to replace Tom Brady if it gets to be 24-3.

Brady is a hall of fame qb. Bledsoe wasn't.
