    Mankins - Sprained MCL

Bummer. This will be the first game Mankins has ever missed due to injury.

The offensive line is in pieces. It was nothing short of amazing that the guys who played line in the 2nd half Sunday were able to make it look like any other game.

To me, this isn't that bad. I feared that his injury would be worse. He may be back in time for the first playoff game.

Def. wont be running the ball now....smh

I think the Pats should try something new. Instead of trying to beat the press. They can throw backwards passes to recievers. Have them run backwards 5 yards catch the ball and then run around looking for lanes to run thru and just lateral it back to another teammate if you are about to get tackled.

It cant look any worse than what we'll see if they go into the playoffs trying to pass all day with this line.

    Welp!

Inuries are part of the game.

    Time to MAN up!

[QUOTE]Do you guys even watch Mankins play every week?  He's been mediocre at best, leading the O Line in penalties, poor blocking, etc. This team will not lose jack squat with him out. Truth hurts. He overrated himself arrogantly and now we have an overrated 9 mil per Guard who also can't play when needed. This team will lose nothing with Mankins out just like we saw for 8 games in 2010. Move Connolly back to LG and start Wendell at Center.  Or, vice versa.  Light and Waters's performances have blown Mankins's out of the water this year. Heck, even Nate Solder has been more effective as a rookie.

Mankins is a good linesman.  He will be ready to play when the playoffs start.  He is one of the better linesmen in the league.  Plays tough and sets the tone for the line.  He will not back down from anyone.

Don't like that he's hurt but the injury could be a lot worse.  MCL sprains, like a lot of other injuries, vary in degree and time of recovery.  Like to see him back for the first playoff game.

Not good at all.  Here's hoping sitting for Buffalo and then the bye will be enough to get him back in good health.

[QUOTE]We'll be running the ball more with Polite and with teams not respecting the run. And Buffalo cannot stop the run at all. We run that ball or we go home. That simple. And we don't miss Mankins just like we didn't last year. Or in SB 42 or in last year's playoff loss. Truth hurts. The guy lives off a mean streak and the fact he never missed a game. Whooops.

Now that that bum Mankins is out and we've got a real fullback in Polite, maybe we can bench that spoiled brat Brady and just run BJGE behind Thomas and Polite all day.  And you think Bill O'Brien is an idiot?

Teh report says he could be back for the first playoff game. Not all bad news.

The o-line will have to make do with what they have.

The Bills will still get spanked at the Razor no matter.

Rusty - do you honestly the offensive line, heck the team, is better off without Mankins?  C"mon man, you're a student of the game, we certainly can't be "better" without him.  Perhaps we can overcome his loss (we did last year), but but I though our line improved when he returned.  And from my perspective, Light and Waters have not blown Mankins' out of the water.  They've played well to be sure, but so has Mankins IMO.  All Pro well?  Perhaps not, but better than the average lineman - sure thing.

Yeah- Looks like Mankins could be back for post season. Amazing that this is his first career injury that has cased him to miss a game. He is needed.
