In Response to Re: Mark Anderson Signs With Bills : BB looks for value, but the problem is that there is no such thing as "value" at WR, CB, and OLB/DE, the three places this team has struggled.  If you have "it" the market prices you out in draft picks, salary or both.

How exactly would you classify the Carter and Anderson signings last year if not value?

And Welker's been a great value for years.  Bodden was also good value in his first year with the Pats before signing long term in 2010.
In Response to Re: Mark Anderson Signs With Bills : Actually, I was hoping that' we would have traded for Tebow and replace BJGE with him.  McDaniels drafted him for a reason.  The dudes got talent.  The trick is to figure out how to use it that doens't include him throwing the ball more than once or twice.  You don't run for 90 yards against a great run D like ours without being a great runner.
    Posted by Bustchise
What about running for 13 yards in the playoffs?  He benefited from a gimmick offense that BB wasn't used to coaching against.  After the 1st quarter of the first match up, the Bronco's were held to 10 points, compared to 13 points in the first quarter alone.

Sigh. I don'tl like Anderson going to the  Bills. Liked Anderson- I guess we have to hang in to see what Pats do with draft before the head scratching commences on building a mighty D!

Gonna have to hit it big on a rookie pass rusher now, or im afraid we're going back to the 2010 pass rush. I dont think Carter is ever gonna be very good again. Tearing a quad is a really serious injury and he's older.

Get another Big D-line stud and watch 2 or 3 jags become the next Mark Anderson/ Tully Banta-Cain/Mike Vrabels/.

yeah, a good interior pass rush is probably more important than from the edges, especiallly against pocket passers.
What an ingrate, just another money grubbing me first player. Anderson revived his career in 2011 playing for the Pats and for a few mil less could have been part of a really special team. Anderson like most athletes perform very well in their walk yr. Bills overpaid, 4 yrs $27.5 w/$6 mil guaranteed.

Either that or the Patriots are too cheap...lol.
Do you blame him, he's on the downside of his career.  A superbowl ring doesn't pay da bills.

as long as someone gets to the qb...does it matter where it comes from. Inside...outside...the patriots don't have enough pressure at all.

Re: Mark Anderson Signs With Bills

I'm surprised we let him get away. We actually had a pass rush this year and the Carter, Anderson Duo brought something we hadn't seen in more than a few years here.

However, the Pats would never have paid what he got. It was a sweet deal for him, and more than he's worth. He's a situational guy who got 3 down pay.

The pass rush made all the difference last year and it will be painful if we go back to the days of no rush again. Yes Carter is great, but if he goes down again...

Re: Mark Anderson Signs With Bills

The Patriots seem to actually try to have less and less pass rush each year.  It's like an obsession to have the most anemic pass rush in the NFL.

Just when you think the defense can't get any weaker - it gets weaker.
