MIA-NE game moved to 4.30 pm next SUN

This is great. HOU-IND, and BAL-CIN are at 1 pm. So the Pats can decide how to play, and who to play in the MIA game to position the team best for the playoff, because the AFC playoff scenarios will be set after those two 1pm games.

Wow, that's hard to believe. Usually the "flex" goes against the Pats.

    Now move Denver-KC to 1:00.

Actually that won't matter because I think we pretty much know the outcome of that game. I hope all decisions about who to 'rest' get made based on the other games.

They flexed it to prevent teams from having nothing to play for.

Even if HOU wins, NE still has a shot at a bye since Den needs to beat KC to lock up the second seed.

If HOU loses, then NE needs to win to get a bye.

    Same goes for Den.

If NE lost at 1 pm and HOU won, then DEN could rest their starters. By pushing NE up to 4:25, NE and DEN will be less inclinded to rest their starters

But the chance of KC winning in Denver is pretty small. If HOU wins at 1 pm, the Pats will know who the 5th or 6th seeds are. So if Bal also win aginst CIN at 1pm, the Pats thoretically can choose to be the 3rd or 4th seed and pick their opponent not only in the wildcard game, but the first round of the playoff as well.

no denver game will be same time as us, so things wont be set. we cant assume a denver win (at least i wouldnt.

i might check at halftime though and if its a blowout and our game is close, , manipualte who we play if it helps to lose by pulling starters.

That doesn't matter. Even if the chances are small, there is still a chance. 3-9 Carolina beat the 11-1 Falcons. The league most likely would prefer HOU, DEN and NE games to be played at 1pm, but because DEN is at home, that would be an 11am start for them.

Pats need to play for that bye week come sunday at 4:25 - because Denver is playing at that time as well.  Yeah, sure, Denver losing here, is a small chance, but Romeo vs Manning, he does have his number! So, there is Always a chance in this league, especially the last week of the season. The last week is always the hardest to predict.

Plus, I feel the Colts will be playing their tails off anyways for Chuck!  I have a feeling the Colts will do us a favor at 1.....we'll see....

Either way, it will be fun!

We already know the 5th and 6th seeds.  The 5th seed is Indy, no matter what else happens. The 6th seed is Cinci, no matter what else happens.

Unless the Pats get a bye, they will play one of those teams, and most likely Cinci, at Foxboro.  Either way, it's not that much different.

I don't see how anybody could expect the Colts to go all out against Houston. They have nothing to play for and we know the history of that franchise in such situations.

If Houston wins, everything won't be set for pats since Denver loss at 4:00 could improve their position...

Also Baltimore clinched north.  Cinci locked at #6

Why, give me one reason the Colts will play to win? Pagano? Great, but if Luck and Freeney and half a dozen others are on the bench with him, what will it matter? It's still the Colts, they will not play to win this game, they will play to avoid injury. And in this case, I don't blame them.

These may not be the Colts of old... fairly new all around and they do not want to have the reputation like the old guard did, wouldn't you think?

What would be the conspiracy? This is good for the Patriots. The Texans are more likely to lose to the Colts than the Broncos are to the Chiefs. If Houston and Cinci win, the Patriots are either #2 or #3. They can start Brady if Denver comes out gang busters and goes up 21-3 or something like that they can start taking starters out of the game... I think this good for the Pats!

Regardless of when these games are played, I want to see the Pats fillet the Dolphins!  They need a great game which, in the least, will make this board lay off the team and make some folks think they can win it all!!  The Pats can't win every game 56 - 0, which many seem to want to prove they are a good team.  Also, Brady needs to throw 5 TDs, no pics and 500+ yards to stuff Rusty!

If Houston wins the early game, and Denver game is over at half cause they are playing KC, might as well just bench the starters for second half.

They were criticized because they were undefeated and stopped playing, or basically shut it down with two or three games to go when they had their playoff seeding set. This is different, the playoffs start the next week and they have zero to gain from this game. Any team, even the BB Pats, would play this one conservatively.
