    Michigan State QB signed

Not sure if everyone saw this but the Pats have signed Hoyer from Michigan State. Anyone who was watching the draft coverage on ESPN, he was the one they kept panning to in his home.

this is a good pick-up.the kid has nothing ,but upside to him.i think he will even give o-connell a run for the money.

Hoyer was the 4th best Qb coming out of this draft.

    Great pickup.

Between him and O'Connel NE has a good pipeline of development QB's now.

I caught about 4 or 5 MSU games this year, so I feel comfortable saying this was a solid pick-up for the Pats.  Hoyer isn't the athlete that O'Connell appears to be, and his arm isn't the strongest either.  However, he's got a good awareness in the pocket and makes accurate throws.  He's got a nice touch on his passes when he's moving out of the pocket too.  He throws a nice screen pass too, and having a guy like Ringer catching also helps too i guess...

Yeah. Apparently he suffered 64 dropped passes last season. The report I read tracked four in one quarter of a big game.

They say despite his numbers being low, he is much better than they indicate. The talent at MSU was all in the running game.

    It can't hurt.
