To be honest, I had to Google what Heisman winners played for the Patriots (figured they players were older)... funny story, my brother just got married in October and his brides grandfather (or maybe it's her great grandfather) is... Joe Bellino... hoping I get to meet him, touch the Heisman.

Yup. Huarte and Bellino. They actually were on the field at the same time.

Side note to this trivia Bellino was also the lowest drafted heisman winner to ever play the game. He was taken in the 17 th round.

Drafted by the Boston Patriots in the 19th round (146th overall) of the 1961 AFL Draft.
Drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 17th round (227th overall) of the 1961 NFL Draft. In fairness to him, he was from Navy and had to serve his four years active and then went to the reserves. Nobody was going to use a high draft pick on a guy with his military obligation. When he finally played pro ball he had been out of the game for a long time.
From Winchester Mass. Joe was only 5'9" 185#.

A mere technicality sir. As we all know in 1961 the AFC didn't count so the redskins played a trump card and scraped up the chip pile

Wow 1967... 20 years before being born lol. Looking at pictures of those days the fields look terrible, and one stadium, think Baltimore , you see someone's house right behind the end zone.

Good stuff there, Babe. I laughed when Madden said a rookie "locker" in the 60's was a nail on the wall.
