    Murderer vs Portstar

Im sure the Pats will fight to get some of the signing bonus back from Herny. Its time to use the money that Herny would be getting and sign up Spikes for the next 4-6 years. Spikes will by a unrestricted FA at the end of the year and he adds the POWWW to this defense. I loved Herny and he was my favorite player but as a Deputy Sheriff I realize why the patriots dont want to be associated with him.

This is a joke, right? Congrats man, you usually are serious about football and your points of view...you got me on this one. Hahaha! Nice.

Better yet, let's take the money we save from Herney and get Chung back! Or maybe Meriweather is available!

Why is it a joke?  Spikes is a good linebacker who brings a certain nastiness to the defensive unit that this defense hasn't seen since Harrison.  Sure, he's not that great in coverage but not many linebackers are.  He is great against the run, can get after the passer, and hits like a ton of bricks.  I, for one, would like to see him resigned as long as his demands aren't too high.

It wasn't a joke? Well for starters Spikes is probably just the type of guy the Patriots won't be signing in the near future because of this Hernandez mess. Last year alone he tweated about gays, drugs and numerous other things over his time here that I'm sure the Krafts aren't too happy about. Two months after we drafted him his porn video hit the internet (I'm serious, he's in his own porn video waving his tool around like it was a lamp). He has stayed away from off season workouts, he has been accused of NOT being a leader in that locker room (this was written in the globe this off season).

Is he a good player? Yeah I think he is very instinctive and very physical. I don't think he is good or even average in coverage despite that one interception he had in the playoffs two years ago. He can cause fumbles. He also has been dealing with knee problems over the last two years and he ran a 4.9 before that. We have drafted two linebackers high in the last two years, and I have to believe they are fully prepared to let him walk.

I agree with the majority of your points.  All valid.  I just didn't get why you thought it was a joke.  It's entirely plausible that the Pats resign him although I don't think they will.  Either way, bringing up the possibility shouldn't be deemed a joke.

Spikes is harmless.  I follow him on twitter and facebook and he's just a knucklehead.  Yeah, he tweets some stupid things but if you read them in their respective contexts, they are all jokes.  Most of those jokes are actually quotes from other comedians.  The PC media gets a hold of them, takes it out of their contexts, and then spin them by claiming he's a racist/sexist/(insert other exaggerated names here).

I have no idea what the knucklehead was thinking when he decided to pull out his wang and let the girl stroke it on webcam.  Dumb decision.  However, I would rather him do that then run around with gangbangers dumping bodies in open fields.

The drafting of Collins and Hightower, the extension to Mayo, etc. make it unlikely that they resign him, but the OP isn't totally out of line with wanting him back.  I think he's a good player who brings a nice physical presence to that unit.

Ok. I just thought the timing of the thread made it a joke. Here Herandez was just being arrested, released and probably off to prison and the thread was about resigning a guy from the same university that is one of the more controversal people on the team. I thought it was a joke and it may be.

It was mostly a joke but Spikes is a very solid 2 down linebacker and arguably the best run stuffer in the NFL. It really all depends on how much he would want and that way to complicated for me to understand. I just liked the headline. Thought it was kinda funny.

ive been on vacation the past 2 weeks. (the moon)  someone please help me out.

is it true the bruins gave up 2 goals in less then 2 minutes and lost?  how could this happen?

where is middlebrooks?  isnt his replacement the guy bobby v wanted last year?

also, i hear doc rivers has disappeared.  no loss here.

but this is what bothers me the most.  i missed the trial for that patroits tight end.

how could they find him guilty ?  for what?  oh, they didnt even mention his crime.

i hope all of you out there  arent accused of anything, cause once you are ur guilty.

    Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 5m

By releasing Aaron Hernandez today, Patriots have waived all rights to recoup bonus money or salary through the CBA.

Ahhhh...turn your cable to NECN...it will cover the arraignment of AH LIVE.........

Pats cut him...probably were told about charges worse than obstruction of justice...The DA of Bristol County was at the N. Attleboro police station when AH was brought there...VERY UNUSUAL......the dude is going WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY DOWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN...if you don't believe it, all I can say is...

    C'MON MAN!!!!!

    [/QUOTE]

i have no problem with anything thats happened , except his being released.

if what you say is true, we dont even need the trial.
