I think next week may actually be pretty boring for Pats fans as some expect lots of activity and I think BB may just wait out the frenzy. I do think Wes signs and maybe before Tuesday noon. Beyond that, I think BB has his eyes on a number of players but will wait until the numbers come down a little bit.
If Welker does not sign, then maybe there is a big name receiver signed early - Amendola, Jennings, Wallace.
Out of the 3 you named Jennings would be my choice. I think he is more athletic and physical than Amendola and Wallace. Perhaps not as good handa as Amendola but much better than Wallace catching the ball. IMO he is a much better route runner than the other 2 also.
Here's the ideal situation, IMO, even though Jennings wants to stay in GB or play in a warm environment/may not want to prioritize winning over cashing in. I somewhat question his priorities unless I hear differently:1. Jennings comes here after other WRs get bigger deals.
2. Keep Lloyd.
3. Wait for a team to cut someone like Earl Bennett or MAYBE Detroit cuts Mike Thomas (yes, he's more a slot kind of guy, but lines up everywhere, has good hands and is a good route runner).
So, you'd get like 3 perimeter guys at way less than Wallace money and can possibly keep Welker, to boot. If Edelman does go, it'd be nice to see someone like Mike Thomas, possibly on the cheap here reunited with Gronk in the slot in spots.
Or, if not Jennings, I wonder if Boldin threatened to retire simply as a leverage move in order to not take a paycut. So, if he gets cut, replace my above plan with Boldin over Jennings.
Boldin will cost less than Jennings, so that would pretty much make the numbers work for Welker to return as well.
Earl Bennett can be a guy who pushes LLoyd in camp at the same price point (4 mil per). He's just a younger version of that.
The thing I would question with bennett would be his ability to pick up the Pat's offensive system.
May I ask why? Vanderbilt grad. He's not dumb and outside of effort, I don't see why he wouldn't be a fit.Really good route runner, good hands, etc. His main issue has been health, but that's about it.
Chicago doesn't have that sophisticated of a passing philosophy/scheme. I am not saying he couldn't pick it up but I would prefer Jennings they run a more intricate type passing attack in GB. Just a bit gun shy after watching FA wide recievers wash out here due to their inability to pick up the offense. -

In FA they need 2 corners and an inetrior D-lineman for the rotation unless Pryor comes back healthy then I would go edge rusher. -

i just hope they at least resign WELKER first, even if they do nothing else offensively, and the load up on defense, I do like cribbs though, and a great kick off returner too!

I think even if we resign Talib we need 2 Cbs...1 via FA and another from the draft...and bring a veteran safety, we need to improve DL too -

Jennings badmouthed NE in 2010 and said he wants to go to Miami/warm weather or Minny (dome) which screams leveraging his market price against GB.
So both Jennings and Wallace want to sign with Miami. The Dolphins just signed Hartline for 6+ millions dollars a year, do they have that much money to spend, for just one position? Let jennings and Wallace bid each other down. -

They had 44 mil in cap space before they re-signed Haryline and Franchised DT Randy Starks. So they probably still have 30mil in cap space. In response to RidingWithTheKing's comment:

So the Dolphins can sign both Jenniungs and Wallace and have Tannehill throws incomplete passes to them. -

as much as I'd like to think the Pats will go crazy, given past history, I have to believe we might see a couple of smaller Pats signings and they will wait for the secondary market once the initial signing boom calms down. They do this every year. They wait for vet cuts to spend any cash and they give larger 1-2 year deals on vets and mid teir players. I wouldn't get to excited about tomorrow but it is very fun to talk about

Tan had broken the rookie total passing yards in one game of over 440 yards until maybe RG3 surpassed it. He can throw the rock. Don't fool yourself. Hartline, Wallace and Jennings sound like a pretty elite receiving corp. No? Gibson and Welker also possibilities? Freakin' WOW!!

Love peeps guessing what BB will do or thinking they know. BB always surprises at times like these, usually in both good and bad ways and usually one super outside the box move that turns out to be either brilliant (Moss) or brutal (Haynesworth) but that is worth the small risk...
