Jets, always playing for the immediate now, eggs in one basket, rather than stocking for your future. I hope we beat them to the punch on some of their FA's just to add insult to injury.

it is funny considering the report was that the Jets were trying their best to get to 12mil and apparently had it but because of the cap couldn't guarantee a fair portion of that and the first year would needed to be very team friendly. In the end it turns out that the "fake cap" as Jets fans proclaim might have been the determining factor.

Where's MsCheat now to say the cap means nothing

I honestly thought it would be around high $80's for 5 years.

You mean the cap that the Jets were over?  The cap that would prevent them from signing Holmes?  The cap that they still sit more than 10 under?   That cap?

yep that one because they aren't 10+mil under. You don't think if they had that much room they couldn't have matched a 12mil yr average? Where's that creative cap management you touted. Obviously they are closer to the cap then you think and need Aso to have a lower cap number this year which didn't agree with him

thats good news. after all of this media hype the jets really haven't added anyone new to their roster, just lost a few guys. they will be good but not good enough to beat the patriots.

Jets failed McCheaters.. just admit it.  They're still in good shape for the most part, but they lost out big from what they wanted.

The Eagles are having a very, very good week so far.

I'm still not a Vick-believer when the post-season chips are down, but Philly, as usual, is proving itself to be an extremely well-run organization.

To pry away from Arizona what they did for an unproven guy like Kolb, and then to follow it up by teaming Nnamdi with Asante at CB--that's pretty good.

Looks like the Jets are back to re-signing Cromartie. Not a bad second option for them, but this transaction here has to have them running for the G*ddamn snack table in Hempstead right about now.

In Response to Re: Nnamdi is an Eagle 5 years, $60 million : spoken like somone who doesn't know that he ran for 130 yards in one game.  So, I guess, considering he was 4th or 5th on the depth chart behind Lt, Greene, Smith, & TRich... pretty good.  That is unless avg almost 5 yards a carry and 20 yards a return is bad.   Next.

Smith? Meaning Brad Smith? Meaning the WR? And TRich, meaning the FB? Funny how you can twist facts to make McKnight look like less of a failure last-season. He wasn't stuck behind those guys - he was stuck behind Shonn Green and LT. And obviously he couldn't beat them out, as he saw limited playing time

So can I argue that Woodhead was stuck behind Sammy Morris, and Julian Edelman?

Woodhead consistently saw playing time from the day he walked in, where McKnight saw the field 3 games, and happened to have one good day... oh... and that game was the last game of the season, which was a completely irrelevant game.

Woodhead's stats were markedly better than McKnight's, which is exacty what the Jets WEREN'T banking on. Sometimes it feels good to admit that your team screwed-up on a roster decision... because they did.

I hope you aren't trying to make te argument that McKnight is better than Woodhead...

It was not the first time and sure won't be the last.  I suspect that they will negotiate with a few others who want more money than the Jets are willing to pay them and they will sign elsewhere... and they will fail again, I guess.

jests fans should feel pretty lucky. and thank philadelphia for keeping the NY front office from shooting their foot off. they probably offered him something averaging revis's contract (it had to be equal - not sure about structure). in the end aso just felt he actually had a chance to win a SB in philly (not NY, i mean).

hopefully now they can address their depth and prove themselves relevant still.

Had the Jests signed Aso, 20% of their payroll would have been earmarked for 2 CB's, albeit 2 excellent ones. Meanwhile the Pats quietly go abt their business, flying under-the-radar. I anxiously await the signing of a quality OLB to complete their off season bounty. The Pats don't rebuild, they reload. The Jests have been weakened by FA defections, and this may be BB's best team.

I guess all the other teams might as well not play out the season. Ya'all act like Nnamdi is the second coming of sliced bread. This FA stuff is good for PR but the games still have to be played. All this hype over this guy is............ hype and gets him a lot of cash. Just like when Asante was the cure all for the Eagles and now they are talking about releasing him. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........

In Response to Re: Nnamdi is an Eagle 5 years, $60 million : Yes, the same Brad Smith.   The WR that had ~40 carries from scrimage and averaged about 8 ypc.  So, what your saying is that a 4th round pick that could not take very many caries away from Greene, LT & Smith, but was thrown a bone toward the end of the season and ran for 130 yards in a game had a bad year?   You can say the Woodhead was behind whoever you want, I don't much care.  The reality is that he never would have been signed if Faulk and Taylor could have stated on the field.  He's a nice little player, but I'm fine with McNight's role as a rookie on a stacked running offense.
    Posted by McCheaters

The fact that a WR was a higher priority in the running game than McKnight speaks volumes.

Why Woodhead came here is irrelevant. He had a significantly better season than McKnight, no questions asked.

Jets have a solid O line and a good run game.. Good job.. you have a crap quarterback and soon to be 1 Wide out after Braelyn leaves because you pretty much told him he was expendable when you went after namdi.

Jets will stay the same if not worse and the Pats got better.  Our transactions will have zero negative effect on this team but have all the ability in the world to have positive ones.  We will see you at the Superbowl, Pats on the field, Yets on the Couch.
