No suspensions or fines for 2 JETS players? WTF?

So it appears that Mangold didn't get fined for his late hit on Talib and that both Colon and Ferguson also will not be punished for the late game scrum in which Ferguson tossed the ref aside.

The NFL fines and suspends for questionable hits but shoving an official and throwing punches is O.K.?

Talib was dancing along the sidelines trying to run down the clock a little. Didn't think the hit was that late.  However, the shoving of the official needed to be addressed.

This looks pretty late and pretty far out of bounds to me.

The whole set of incidents smells of "We've clearly lost this game, the Patriots are going to line up in victory formation, so we might as well commit felony assault while it's free."

Questionable hits are a safety issue and a potential lawsuit issue (depending on how cycnical you are). FYI, over the past month two HS football kids have passed away due to hits. At the rate that NFL hits are getting mroe violent, it may not be long before we see one happen in pro football.

And you wrote that he wasn't that far out of bounds.  It was your comment that prompted that picture.  Out of bounds is out of bounds.  He can dance all freaking day if he wants.  It's a low hit on a knee...it's been penalized twice this season so far.

The funniest part of that game was the Jets thinking they could stop the clock by faking an injury.  The look on Ryan's face was priceless when he saw that the clock had been run down anyway.

If you can't beat them on the field, act like imbeciles.  Jets know this routine well.

Would everyone feel better if the players were fined $50K each?

    How would that change anything?

(Please save the "others would think twice" responses.  No they wouldn't.)

Agreed.  Money doesn't change this league.  Playing time does.  Until they switch to a model whereby they suspend players, it's not going to change.

Gotcha, we should just allow a player to dive at the back of another players legs when he is 3 yards out of bounds and not expecting it without any accountability.

First: look at the context of calls made  for this year - very very tight

Second: Mangold hit was clearly late and out of bounds

Third: there was a penalty called on it.

Fourth: Even Rex said he could see why BB was upset - but "he knows" Mangold didn't mean to be dirty. - (Like - Ray Ray and his bloody white suit lol)

Fifth - And most importantly, there looks like there is an injury to Talib

Mangold should be tossed for at least a game - but there seem to be different rules

BTW - Mayock was absolutely insane for saying that Talib should have gotten out of bounds before he got hit - is he serious???/-

On the two fighters - they were thrown out of the game and I believe that that counts as a game - but for christ sakes look what happened to BB last year when he just grabbed at an official trying to get his attention on the bad FG called good? Isnt the hit worth a full game?

IMO, he wasn't that late.  so, why don't u pull up more footage and go frame by frame as to when contact was initially made. Clearly, the frame that you pulled was in the middle?

I think this video from this angle makes it pretty evident it was late at least 2 to 3 yards out of bounds
