I don't understand the dig here.  So Spikes was on the phone list.  I see no problem with that.

The only others on the list in the NFL are the Pouncey's who are all 'free Hernandez' and look stupid, I guess Spikes is a part of that clan lol

Not really a dig, just imagine if this came out and spikes had resigned here....

I think you have a point, could you imagine if we resigned this guy and it came out that he was Hernandez's pen pal or phone buddy? I mean we all knew there was some sort of friendship because they were from the same team in college - although I'm not saying Spikes lives the same life Hernandez did - they most likely have some associations that wouldn't be all warn and fuzzy for the Patriots to deal with through the media circus.

And Spikes has his own off the field "issues" - the guy stared in his own porn video, his twitter account is a distraction and it already has been reported that he is far from a leader the team wanted him to be.

I don't get the drama queen tone with this.  THen again, I should. This board is littered with non-sensical Hernandez comments.

Some of you are going to need to start your own board or maybe watch Nancy Grace, because I can tell you right now, most Pats fans could care less about the daily reports on an upcoming Hernandez trial in October.

Wake me when the guilty verdict comes down.

Just imagine if spikes had re-signed here and this report came out... He'd be in the dog house big time

Also, it seems that you are the only one who doesn't care about the Hernandez reports. Whenever a AH thread starts, it gets many responses but only you hate them.

    Doug,

The expression you are going for is "couldn't care less".   This is a silly little point I know, and you no doubt will blame your refurbished Commodore 64 and BDC.    I have to ask, did they grade your IQ test on a curve?

Hahaha!  Everyone knows the proper expression is "couldn't care less" as you pointed out!  Bravo, Sir!  look at that.... more Rusty ownage!!!

Double props to you for also using the Commodore 64 reference!  I wonder if Rusty has upgrade from the tape drive to the floppy drive yet.

Re: Not Surprised At All (Spikes-Hern)

I believe the pats were very aware of Spikes relationship with Hern, and his hanging out at the AH drug house very frequently.

Only a Pats apologist would say there is no relevancy to this story, and every major media outlet continues to follow it and report any updates to it.

The Pats are one of the NFL poster glamour teams, with TB, RK, Gronk, Revis and BB getting huge national pub. For the Hern situation to have taken place right under their collective noses, is too juicy and interesting for any outlet to resist. ( let's not lose sight of the real reason TT was brought in, with never, ever an iota chance of making this roster. Let's simply call him an expensive baby sitter/psychologist/conscience to what has been reported as an emotionally falling apart Hern)

Interesting take on the Tebow signing . . . do you really believe they brought him in mostly to try to get Hernandez to reconnect with more positive people from his past?

That was one of the reports honestly. That's what Meyer did and BB is close to Meyer. It's actually pretty hard to believe the Pats didn't know Hern's past with a resource like Meyer.

I agree there is too much continued interest in Hern at this time.  As far as I am concerned he is out of the Patriots picture and let's keep our focus on the current team and players.  As it is, just that alone, focusing on the team should keep everyone occupied comfortably.
