In Response to Re: The problem is that we ignore what a defense is doing and throw into a crowded secondary anyway. We have 5 Rb's who have all looked like they have skill, and an offensive line built to maul. Throwing 35 times and having Kevin Faulk lead your rushing attack with 6 carries is a problem. Nothing else.

O'Brien might be the slowest guy within a 100 mile radius of Foxboro at adjustments.  He runs to great success, slowly weens himself off the run game, loses a game, than goes back to it; he'll do it over again in the playoffs and we'll leave the first round with egg on our face once AGAIN?!.  When is he going to learn his lesson?

I understand them wanting to get their money out of Faulk but really, is he a better option than Ridley or Woodhead right now?  I thought he was the contingency plan...

Maybe they want Ridley and Law Firm healthy for the playoffs, if so then I agree with this plan, but for godsakes they had better use them like Anotine Smith when the time comes!  Not have them sitting on the sidelines watching during the playoffs like LawFirm, Fred Taylor, Sammy Morris and Maroneys of old.

O'Brien wants more Price in offense November, 1, 2011 Nov 1 12:41 PM ET Email Print Comments 28 By Chris Forsberg AP Photo/Winslow Townson Could Taylor Price see an increased role moving forward? Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien said Tuesday that he'd like to get wide receiver Taylor Price more snaps in the offense moving forward. "He's practiced well," said O'Brien. "We need to get him in there more. He's done a good job in practice and he's a guy we gotta give some more reps to in the game." Pressed on how that might happen, O'Brien noted, "We're figuring all of that out right now. You'll see that on Sunday."

Jeez O'Brien - you're the OC. If you want Price in the game, put him in the #$%# game.  Instead you wait till after the game to whine about it. Doofus deserves to be fired.

Even if they feel Price is ready to contribute O'Brien is too stupid to figure out how to use him effectively.

Price is way overdue for a chance to really show his stuff. I mean for a full quarter or half, here and there, not 1 play per game. How can a guy get anything going with one play?

Same with Ocho. Send him on some simple routes to begin with. He needs a confidence builder at this point. You know the guy didn't just forget how to catch a football. If he can't handle a simple route by this time, i.e. halfway through the season, just cut him loose. What good is he?

You draft a guy in the third round last year - you have him do nothing for almost two years - now you decide you just may need him? Who the hell runs this team nowadays? Pete Freaken Carroll?! We need a deep threat, everyone knows this. Apparently his name is Price and he's on our roster, why the hell have they waited this long to decide they need to get him involved. Don't they develop players anymore? What have they been doing with this guy for two years? Supposedly he's looked just great in practice - so you don't put him in a game because Ocho Cinco is lighting the world on fire? Did it take Edelman touching a woman in her bathing suit area in a night club for them to give this guy a chance?

Hey!!! They do too develop wideouts!  Look at how patient they're being with this Ocho guy everyone's talking about.

In Response to Re: O'Brien wants more Price in offense : We haven't put Price in the game because the receiving core and Tom Brady has been top 3 in the league all year. that is not the problem. The problem is that we ignore what a defense is doing and throw into a crowded secondary anyway. We have 5 Rb's who have all looked like they have skill, and an offensive line built to maul. The WR group is extremely weak after Welker and Branch (the next four WRs have combined for 13 receptions - that is less than 2 per game). In reality, Hernandez is really the No. 3 wide out on this team.

I think as fans we have overrated the RB group. I heard today people saying that the Pats were resting BJGE after he had 57 carries in three weeks against the Raiders, Jets and Cowboys. If that is the case, he is not a No. 1 RB in the NFL. That is less than 20 carries per game with the bye week already in there to get healthy. That through seven games we have had four people lead the team in both yards and carries tells me that none of them is good enough to be a full-time NFL RB.
