I did initially jump to the conclusion that he hit her. I'm willing to acknowledge that it could be the other way around. I can see how she might have set this up. I don't really know what happened. It doesn't really matter. Eventully the truth will come out. I do know that I'm not surprised by any of this. Honestly. How many of you are? Simply put, the guy just ain't too bright.

You're right. He'll find a job somewhere. Maybe his buddy T.O. will put in a good word for him in Seattle. Or better yet, the Jets will take him.

I saw a booking photo online of a friend of a friend about ten years back. His ex-wife gave him a black eye and hammered him on the side of his head with an old rotary size phone. He owed too much child support to suit her.

He never touched her and he said the cops were laughing that they saved him from catching a worse beating.

In some states the man is always arrested not that this was the case with Ocho just making a point.

After watching the videotape of the violence committed on TV by Ocho's wife posted byTB12 I am left with the opinion that this is really a tragedy of 2 crazy people finding each other, believing they can save each other but being consumed by their own individual craziness! Still, regardless of who headbutted who Ocho is responsible for having married her. He should have had a sense of her character. At the very least this is poor judgement on his part.

We all learn from life the hard way.

I think the NFL is done with Chad/Ocho-at least for now.
He appears more interested in working as an "entertainer" whether in porn or "reality"  tv.
He and his wife have their own reality tv show ready to go, and I believe their wedding is set to be aired as well. I wonder if that will be pulled.

The blur between reality tv and real life for the so called  celebrities
that make their living on these shows is not one and the same.
Evelyn on Basketball Wives is coached and I'm sure encouraged to "go off" on other women cast. I guess there is an audience for this as it has become common on the housewife shows, jersey shore, etc.
    It's all scripted.

The real life drama between Chad/Ocho and Evelyn was not scripted. This is not Chad/Ocho's first arrest for domestic violence. And yeah, I think the NFL has had enough with player violence off the field. Finally.

I generally don't pay attention to stars private lives.  Unless you are doing something on screen, stage, or field for my enjoyment, I could generally care less.  And I also don't keep up on these reality shows and other like minded nonsense.  That being said, I had no idea who is wife was other than hearing he was marrying someone from "Basketball Wives", which I knew very little of.

Then I saw the video of her taking off her earrings and throwing a wine bottle and casserole dish at someone.  Some thoughts.  1.  That b!$#@ is crazy.  2.  How isn't she wasn't arrested for that???  3.  Ocho married that?  4.  Not sure exactly what happened over weekend, but after seeing her anger issues and finding out she discovered a receipt for condoms, it's easy to see how things got violent.  5.  I wish Chad the best in the reality based TV lifestyle he seems so desperately to want.  But I won't be paying attention now that he seems to have given up football for it.

I totally agree with TFB12. If it turns out Chad did it -then shame on him and he deserves to lose his job. But what if his wife head really did head butt him and she made the story up becasue she was peeved at him for cheating? Despite the other alledged incident reported in the Miami paper - the guy deserves his day in court before people implicate him. If people only knew how many instances there are of false accusations made against men by women - you would not so fast to implicate him until all the facts have been reported

TFB12 is right when he says women have a big advantage in these matters. All a woman needs to do today is make an accusation of assault (true or not) and the man is arrested - his life is turned upside down - he spends huge dollars to defend himself - his reputation is destroyed - he is humiliated in the town that he lives in and probably loses his job. Now suppose it turns out he didn't do it - dont you think he deserves the chance to defend himself ?

Maybe, but I seriously doubt she is encouraged to "go off" to the point of throwing things at someone.  In the video I posted the link for it clearly shows other cast memebers sitting there very uncomfortable and scared as they witnessed what happened.  Heck, some film crew people had to jump in to stop her.  The lady was out of control in that video, is there any video of Chad Johnson out of control? Because I don't know if there is or no,t but I do know that could be some pretty solid evidence for Chad to use in court.  And if they say oh, that's scripted blah, blah, blah then we can say bye bye to these reality shows.  I think Chad has some pretty strong things going his way here.  Dolphins blew it by letting him go so quickly, IMO.  At least give the man his day in court.

    Re: Ocho Cinco arrested

Stewart- I agree Chad/Ocho should get his opportunity to tell his story. I think the 911 tapes will be released soon. He will have the opportunity to go before a judge snd the evidence will be presented. It's unlear to me if his wife is movig forward with pressig charges.
He already lost his spot with the Dolphins.
The other incident of his domestic violence isn't alleged- it happened and is a matter of court record. Not a made up incident. He did have to enroll in anger managment program.

I find your claims of false allegation by women against men for domestic violence bogus. The stats and facts  don't bear that out- at all. Yes, I'm sure there is the occasional false alleagation- like everything else.
In most situations the reality is much more bleak. Women are subjected to abuse and violence by their spouses/partners with a much higher incidence and a much higher rate of death. Most murders are commited by men that women know. Most women are killed/murdered in so called domestic violence incidents.
Google domestic violence statistics. It's sobering.
Domestic violence crosses all soci-economic boundaries. Normally it takes many incidents of domestic violence for a woman to leave. The fear factor and intimadation are enormous.

Your claims that law enforecment favor women is also not true. If a woman makes a false claim she can be prosecuted.  It has taken many many years for training and support of law enforcement to respond to domestic violence. It can be a very volatile sitation for all involved.
Question- how many murders, and murder suicides are commited by men involving their wifes, ex wives, girlfriends, and god forbid children?
And how many murders are commited by women against their husbands, boyfriends, exes, etc?

What is more than obvious to me reading the posts on this thread, is there still is a whole lot of education to be done.

Re: Ocho Cinco has been released after being arrested

    TFB-12,
That film you posted was highly scripted. Evelyn wasn't arrested because that was part of the show. Notice the bottle missed the head of the woman she has the "problem" with.
All of the drama is manufactuerd for maxium "OMG" factor from an audience that likes this kind of trash.
Everyln has the part of "scary" - do not cross me.
There is a line drawn- and I'm sure contracts signed that penalize real violence on these reality circus shows.
Evelyn would have been arrested if this was  a real assualt, and producers of the show held liable. That wasn't the case- and should tell you all you need to know about how real those scenes were.

Chad will get his day in court. I don't think phins let him go too quicky. Chad/Ocho is all about self promotion- and living his image of "bad boy"
    Mission accomplished.
He would be a huge distaction for the Dolphins, and had been given warnings by the team which he chose to disregard.
What I do find remarkable is that he kept himself so "in control" as a Pat. I'm sure he thought he'd be wearing a ring, which would only help his brand cause.

A waste of talent- for sure. Maybe there is still hope for him with another team- not looking very good right now.

Re: Ocho Cinco has been released after being arrested

There's a to of trash reality tv- and I think VH1 shows a lot of it.
The film you viewed of Evelyn was manufactured drama and is a staple for many of the reality shows now. Everyone plays their part.
She wasn't arrested because it wasn't reality.
She may or may not have real life anger issues that escalate to the crazy (agreed) depiction of her going off on Basketball wives.
Chad/Ocho may or may not have anger issues as well.
Whatever happened in the incident this weekend- I don't think was scripted. Chad & Evelyn both stood to lose a lot. And looks like they have.

They do both want "careers" in reality land- and have a couple of projects going. Something's gotta give. My guess is one or the other forgives the other- and they reunite for their tv shows. Whether they remain relevant- even in that
land of trash- remains to be seen.
Yeah Chad/Ocho's priorities clearly aren't football- but football gives him the platform for self promotion- so who knows if he'll attempt a "come back" with another team- and if another team will have.

Like or dislike Evelyn- like or dislike Chad/Ocho- but don't condone the violence that happened this weekend that injured Evelyn- and I'm sure could have been much worse given that head butting was involved.

The 'phins didn't let him go too quickly. Their new coach told Johnson in no uncertain terms that his clown act wasn't going to be tolerated. Then, before the first pre-season game, what does the bozo do? Kicks his circus up a notch. What do you expect them to do? Say "it's just Ocho being Ocho and that's how we like it here"? Allow that harlequin to disrupt the team as they are trying to re-build? I'm not a Miami fan but I have to say that most NFL fans with any common sense would agree that they had to cut Johnson loose.

Hey, there's a 50/50 chance he could be the victim in this, did you ever think about that?  Anyone can be accused of anything, whether it's true or not is a different story.  He could have been in a harmless shouting match with his wife and she head butts him.  Now why should he lose everything for something he didn't do?  Wait to see what facts come out, I would have thought the Dolphins would have stood behind him long enough to find out the facts.
