This idiot can't even Title a thread correctly!
Entire NFL fan base disagrees with NE fan base.

Last I looked, the NE Patriots were one of 32 teams and a member of the NFL i.e NFL Fans. So if the NE fans are also NFL fans, then the word Entire is incorrect. The proper title should be- Some NFL fans disagree with some NFL fans.
Glad I could clear that up for ya!

This guy bjesuss is right.  Indy didnt lay down in the 16th game of the season, the Jets took it to them.  I will give you both the Cincy wins, but you know the Indy win was a joke.

bjesuss, the Jets are getting older fast. the Pats had a really deep roster from 2004-2008.  It was hard for the rookies to make the team, because of that the team got old fast.  Your Jets have added 3 rookies to the team last year, maybe 4 this year.  You also added jerks to your roster:  Cromartie (8 kids - 7 moms), LT (cry baby), and Holmes (a pothead and had a domestic battery charge with girlfriend and then throwing a glass at another lady at a bar - strange combo there).  You lost the AFC leading rusher, a very good 3rd down back/special teamer (Leon's return for the TD is the reason the Jets won that game against the Pats, minus Wes not playing) for a rookie FB.  Lito was better than Cromartie, and your best OLB is Jason Taylor a 36 y/o player.  Things are really looking up.

Is it really the NFL fan base that disagree? or was it just the jerks? i mean the Jets (fan base)?  I hope that it is really all the rest of the NFL fans that are scared of the Pats.  What do you do when you are scared of something? you hated it :)

Well, bring on the all the hatred! GO PATS!!!

Right?  Isn't it funny that some fcukers come here like they need to set us all straight?  They always seem to forget that there's enough good Patriot chat here to keep us occupied so we don't have to stoop to the level of going to other teams' boards to learn a thing or two about football.

I'd put this fcuker at about 18 y.o.  Thinks he knows a thing or two about life but is too dumb to know that he doesn't know a damn thing.

In Response to Re: Once again, entire NFL fan base disagrees with NE fan base : It's hard to tell where to start with you.  Getting old fast?  Replacing a 33 year old RB with a second year guy without all those miles on him is getting old? Yet at the same time you question that move.  Repalcing a 32 year old o-lineman with a third year guy is getting old?   Drafting an o-lineman to replace Woody next year, drafting a 3rd down receiving back to learn from an NFL all time great (LT) is gettting older?  RB & O-line are major dropoff positions. One year your good, next year your history. When you neglect to upgrade aging postions what you end up with is, well, the Patriots.  LT (former NFL man of the year) is a crybaby?  Why?  Because he wanted more carries?  So, you'd prefer the back that doesn't like to run the ball?  Wait, you have that in Maroney.   Holmes is a pothead?  But your 5 time drug test failing rookie tight end is not?  Leon was going to come back from a triple fracture and be the Leon of old? Why do I suspect that if Leon had been kept your argument would have been that he was all done from that injury?  The reality is, the Jets were a very good team by the end of their FIRST season under a rookie head coach with a rookie QB.  They targeted positons that needed to be upgraded and within very strict final 4 restictions, upgraded them while not mortgaging the future or getting locked into outrageous contracts (see AT - how'd that work out?).  The Pats on the other hand have shown a decline the last 3 years while 'rebuilding'.  When does that start getting better? By the way, guess what these numbers are 32, 33, 34, 33, 33, 35. Those are the ages of the Pats, QB, RBs, and WRs.  How is that even possible with a team that just replaced 1/2 its roster in the last 2 drafts?  But if you'd like some more inclusive numbers for everyone on the roster, Pats average age, 26.5, Jets average age, 25.7 & that's with the 35 year old Jason Taylor. Jason Taylor is a bad pickup for a year? Let's see, best stats on Pats D, Banta-Cain - 9.5 sacks, 35 tackes, best on the Jets, Pace with 8 sacks 45 tackles, a part time Jason Taylor, 7 sacks 33 tackles on the 22nd ranked D.  Sounds like the Pats should have gone after him. Why would you come post this kind of nonsense?  When you recover from your beating, come back and tell me that Greene is just a flash in the pan and that the Kerry Rhodes was the heart and soul of that number one D.

I wasnt saying LT was cry baby for lack of carries.  he is a cry baby because he has an excuse for everything.  and i wouldnt say that about Leon, most people come back from broken bones.  even if he is 95% of what he was, he was a nightmare match problem with defenses.
so, you have proof that Hernandez has 4 failed tests, because there is only one on record.  you must have some inside information that no one in the world has.  But, you didnt bring up your Holmes?  why is that?  because all of that stuff actually happened?  oh, and what happened today?
i know that the Pats have blemishes.  they are, RB, RDE, Matt Light, and youth on defense.
where are the blemishes on the Jets:  DL, OLB, leadership, inexperience at QB, S, and RB.  you might think the your RB is great, but he did nothing against the Pats or Dolphins last year.
that "beating" you gave me, i get more from my nephew and he is 6.

If you really want to talk career decline you should mention Joe Namath. Terrible QB with below average stats who could never take a hit like Curtis Martin. Consdering the Jets basically drafted 6 players and only two will start (namely Sanchez and Greene)from that draft. I expect the trend of mediocrity to continue.

The Jets got burned by Welker in the second game.  Rex's aggressive defensive style gets alot of sacks and INT's but can give up some big plays.  It requires CB's that can play man coverage, and smart safety's.  They've attempted to solidify the hole that let Welker burn them over the middle with Cromartie and Wilson.  I wouldn't expect much out of the Rookie, maybe a nickel to start the season, and I am not a believer in Cromartie as anything more than average.  We'll see how it goes, if their Dline is as good as last year they could improve but hard for me to say the secondary will improve, it takes time to develop guys in the secondary.  Expect them to be above average, but there will be a soft spot somewhere in the secondary.

    bjesus and ALL~

First off, wadd'ya a dinosaur?  Noone under 80 calls marijuana, d0pe any more.  IF ya can't even begin to expand your pretensions on the legality issue, and IF you're trully diehard in your dead-set belief that it's immoral for someone to partake in something that does pretty much zero harm on someone else: At the bare minimum brother, at least attempt to recognize "different tastes for different persons in different experiences?"  THIS can be classified under that crazy notion of having even meager Human Empathy...  I myself, AM a former oxycotin addict.  And lemme tell ya first, The harm that drug did and took hold in my or anyone's life, IS nothing compared to p0t or alcohol, yet see I didn't believe & did not know at the time, THAT swallowing 1/4 of 1 stup!d pill, WOULD alter very much, the course of my life for such a long-time.  Now, I haven't even drunk 1 alcoholic substance at all, let alone have done anything else, in something like 4 years now, YET at the time then, being diagnosed with depression, WAS looking and needing something...anything really, to help myself.  And trust me, the two cases of the awful harm of opiates, does NOT even come close to equate to the legality of Mary Jane, so idk:  IF you cannot at least try to alter your pretensions that "Hatism is schism on the serious tip," THEN at least, Recognize that it comes off as too-personal a slur, rude, holier-than-thou, and it's a breach of simple decorum in my book (and I don't really care if it's a mere derisive footnote in your tale, because I'll bring it towards Anyone who comes off as derogatory and denegrating others...).

All that nasty stuff besides man, The NYJ have always been a tough team for me (and many other NE Fans I'm sure).  I suppose I can liken it to the darkside of the force:  First, NE just HAS to be "Good" here, because....idk, this comparison and my overall world-view can't work if the thing that I personally follow, is evil.  So NYJ's gotta be "Bad", alright?  Once We ALL can recognize the arbitrary but very truthful aspect on THAT part, then we can go on...  SEE, the major problem for me lies NOT simply in the fact that NYJ's are too close for comfort:  New York's overall proximity of locale to my New England, and even within the aspect that I see many Jets/Giants jerseys, memorobilia, WORN and donned by many NY Fans.  The major problem ain't even the fact that we're division rivals, and these multiple games that are played against our clubs, Greatly determine post-season success and even birth...  ANOTHER painful, albeit "NON-#1-Problem" IS that I actually like fiery, exciting coaches who instill a passion to play in their players; And dang, I LOVE an attacking Defense, and I'll regretfully ADMIT that CB was the position I LOVED playing MOST in High School, and it's trully gut-wrenching for me How Nasty Darrelle Revis IS...
But ALL of that I can whitewash away through massive leaps of fictionalized delusions about your franchise's awful "Evilness."  But HERE, The trully BIG problem is thus:  I really like and believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY in earth tones...ya know, simple ungaudy colours?  Now, I LOVE shades of grey in my condo, but I also actually look good in khaki's, browns, tans and (gulp) dark greens.  But man, the he!! IF I actually WEAR anything close to Jets' Green.  And it trully isn't fair...  Maybe perhaps, considering that according to The Rules of MY Team, that NYJ's embody "evil", and BECAUSE My Team embodies "good," THAT we can go about changin' your team's colours, ya think?  I'm thinkin' largely Teal on this one...Jet's Teal would be just perfect imho.  I wouldn't be caught dead in teal, but again, those dark earthy greens really CAN go with a good number of outfits and I love simplicity of wardrobe...  ANY possibility you can get your franchise ta buy into this whole idea here?  If not for you, then for US NE Fans?

    The Jets worry me.
    So do the Dolphins.
    And the Bills.

They are our division rivals. They worry me every year. It doesn't matter how good (or bad) they are, we know it will be a tough win.

It would be nice to sweep the Jets this year, though, to tie up the all-time head-to-head series record. Right now it is 48-50-1.

We are 37-49-0 against the Dolphins and 58-40-1 against the Bills.

In Response to Re: Once again, entire NFL fan base disagrees with NE fan base : I'm not sure you actually know what 'backing into the playoffs' means.  And I am positive that I don't knwo what BEARLY means.  Backing in by winning 5 of 6?  Backing in by crushing a team 31-0, a team that could have improved thier playoff positon.  Instead of Baltimore getting that cakewalk against NE, it could have been the Bengals, right? Re: Hernandez "He had multiple positive tests, so he either had issues or he's dumb," one longtime NFL executive told the Globe. "One or two tests? Fine. But four, five, six? Come on, now you've got an addiction. He's not a bad kid. He just has an issue.'' Is this the vaunted BB kind of player?  What happened to all the 'character' talk we've heard so much about?  'Stupid' is the new 'character' AT was leading the team in sacks when he broke his arm.  No big deal, though, LBs don't need arms.  Let's see, Mike T says the Jets have no plans to sign him, he also had no plans to trade Leon or cut Faneca.  When you have a young running back that shows promise and a 30+ running back (see the Curtis Martin/Lamont Jordan transition)that is DECREASING production from the previous year, you make the switch.  LT did not replace TJ, LT is the backup, not to mention a backup that can catch the ball, which neither Greene or TJ are very good at.  Where was TJ in the playoffs when everyone else was playing great? Leon was a non factor last year and there were zero gaurantees he would have been anywhere close to the same player.  If he was still such a talent, why didn't anyone take hime for a 2nd round tende or why didn't a team grab him for somehting more than a 7th at the draft?.  Do you remember that Denver offensive line that just kept producing backs?  Every year another great runner and every year stupid fans would say, why did they get rid of Davis? Gary? Portis? Anderson? It was about an 8 year stretch where they just kept replacing backs and lineman.  How?  Shannahan & Alex Gibbs knew how to run the ball.  You, unlike the rest of football, think that it's a good thing to hold on to players until they expire.    When the best offensive line coach in football says 'this guy is declining fast' you listen.  By the way, when Faneca was signed a couple of years ago, this board was full of "how stupid the Jets are signing a washed up Faneca" Funny how all that has changed.  Then again, that was the same thing said about Jones. How'd that turn out?So, basically, the Patriots roster is full of UNPROVEN rookies and 2nd year guys and this means they are going to the superbowl, the Jets replace 3 or 4 with rookies and they are doomed.  Do you see the stupidity in that argument?

In Response to Re: Once again, entire NFL fan base disagrees with NE fan base : Laz, forgive me if I don't address much of your comment.  It's still early in my part of the world and that was a very long post.  To sum it up, my 'dope fiend' comment was specifically to Brookline Rob (and others) who want to defend the Pats new tight end while still persecuting Holmes for his prior use.  My ONLY problems with the use of (fill in your ultra hip term for marijuana here) in college and pros are that 1) knowing the potential negative  ramifications of such, suspention, fines, dropping draft position and then getting drafted by the Pats somone who then tests positive must either be stupid or be addicted and 2 ) With regular use, it certainly hinders the mental aspect of the game, if not the physical aspect and therefore hurts your overall performance and thus, the team. Now, re: my personal feelings about (fill in your ultra hip term for marijuana here), they are just not relevant, though I will admit that they are very very very liberal.  I live in a town with over 100 MMDs and it is a pretty common part of the culture here (along with the best craft beer) in the best city to live in (according to Fortune magazine).  I wouldn't have it any other way.  I appreciate that I live in a place where people are allowed to make choices for themselves. I'm sorry that you've had a hard time with Oxy, I have friends who's lives have been torn apart by that and other addictions and it's really sad.  The saddest part is that I cannot even have a beer with them anymore.  Keep up the fight.  As I told Jason Taylor, there is always room for you on the other side.

As far as Hernandez and Holmes, it ain't the use of herb that's the issue.  The airplane incident only reinforces that Holmes is a 1st class nutter.  To compare their use of mary jane and to call them one in the same because of it is an argumnet of desperation.  Funny that some of the guys on the Steelers couldn't get Holmes out of the city fast enough.  And now he's a Jet, some of those hypocritical fans and will say that Hernandez was a questionable draft pick while calling Holmes a steal.

In Response to Re: Once again, entire NFL fan base disagrees with NE fan base : About the only thing in there that was correct was that Welker did eat them up.  Welker is a great receiver with a great QB throwing to him.  That's a  big loss for the beginning of the year.  Let me edumacate you.  The Jets did not have a lot of pics last year, middle of the road.  The Jets did not have a lot of sacks last year, worse than middle of the road.  I beleive that it was the weakest part of their D.  The Jets were able to create a lot of pressure, but it was mostly because of decent coverage.  Not having their starting NT for the year was a tought thing to overcome.  Big plays were not a major probelm.  The Jets were fantastic in 4 very important defensive catagories.  Points allowed, yardage allowed, & 3rd & 4th down percentages.  One of the things that driove me crazy about the Managini years was playing great D on 1st and 2nd downs, then giving up a 1st down on 3rd & 8.  you've got to be able to get your D off the field.  Fatherhood issues aside, most in the NFL believe Cromartie to be a top corner who is very capable of shutting down good receivers.  Their top pick Wilson should be a very capable nickle corner and their pass rush should be better than last year.  So, for a guy like Welker, he can always find a seam, but after Manning tore apart the Jets secondary with the receivers not covered by Revis, it was obvious some upgrades were needed.  In zone Ds, it takes a little longer.  In man Ds, it's more dependant upon the skill of the corners.  If Jason Taylor brings what he brought last year, that will make things a little easier.  Anything the Jets get from their newest DE, the Ghost is a bonus.
    Posted by bjesuss

Blitzes leave openings, it's a calculated risk.  The Jets blitz alot so they need to be able to rely on their players in man coverage or get to the QB or both.  It worked most of the time last year, but there was a weakness on the other side of Revis.  All I'm saying is that I'm not buying that a rookie or Cromartie equates to an instant upgrade.  Cromartie has a reputation as a superior athlete who plays good but should be better considering his athleticism.  We'll see how it goes in September.
