Back in '82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile.

How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?... Yeah... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

This speaks to the continuing problems of NFL players (and athletes?) after retirement. These guys are used to a life of privilege, not going to a boring job everyday, having a lot of money, fame and social power. Transitioning for most guys is difficult.

The NFL  Players Association should make it mandatory to attend a life skills workshop to include limiting the # of baby mama's and handling your cash for after playing purposes.

The sad fact is that most NFL players have been coddled for so long they can't face life without football...it's the same for basketball players and now, most high priced baseball players as well.

Yes, it's their own responsibility, but no, they don't know how to deal with life and the entire college and pro sports business needs to do more for the people they bring in and use up for their economic benefit.

First Hernandez and now Caldwell. BB is such an enabler. Does Kraft fire him before or after this season?

Yes, he is a victim of the NFL. Actually we are all to blame, for supporting this heinous league. For him to actually have to go through (for a very short time) the drudgery that is the life most of us live is a crime. He deserves a hug and a bailout, just like Aldon Smith. Jesus, can't a $cumbag EVER be just a $cumbag.

good luck on that. Separate housing, paid expenses, perks out the wazoo, classes that a 9th grader could pass, and all to bring in $ as the schools' cash cow
