    Overall impression of the Rookies?

Chung:  in on multiple plays, strong in the box, was decent in coverage

Edelman: looks like a jack-of-all-trades contributor, the quintessential Pats player

Butler:  looked pretty good in coverage

Vollmer: didn't look lost, looks like a keeper

    Brace: thoughts?

    Anyone else I'm missing?

Edelman looked very well, for 1 game. I hope it continues.

I want to see Chung dominate.

I'm going with Chung. I think Endelman will be an awesome addition to the receiving corp, but I think Chung will have a bigger impact to this team. He is the type of safety that the Pats covet and are usually difficult to find and take time to groom. He could also be a huge help on special teams. The guy seems to absolutely love football.

Also, you could consider a guy like Jonathan Wilhite a rookie. He was drafted last year and got injured very early on. I was very impressed with his play last night. He was in perfect coverage on the deep ball thrown his way in the beginning of the game and made some great tackles.

I may just be a local Pats yahoo, but I can't remember a Pat's team that had this many additions through draft and free agency that look like they will improve the team.

Wilhite played the whole season last year, Terrance Wheatley was injured halfway through.

But Chung needs to realize it was the 1st preseason game.  He was celebrating and freaking out like it was a Superbowl.  Calm it down a little bit and keep a cooler head...

I think thats a good thing.  From what I"ve read he gets excited just being at practice.  Its nice to have a high intensity player especially since Rodneys gone.

Edelman and Pryor were very impressive.  Pryor wasn't even on my radar.
