Patriots had 4...2nd round draft picks in 2009.....Zero are on the roster right now

Patriots made four 2nd-round picks in 2009: Chung, Butler, Brace & Vollmer. as of right now, none of the four are on the current NE roster.

Not true. Pryor is. Edelman may resign. Same with Vollmer. Try not to lie/do your homework better before knee jerking a thread.

2009 was a weak draft (better than the awful 2008, but still weak) which is why BB traded back into 2010 and everyone whined here when he did it. Then he owned 2010, did well in 2011 and 2012.

The draft yielded nice talent, but oft injured talent.

Oh no!  The horror of not having a full yield on one draft!

Read the thread. 2nd round picks

Agree Russ...however , the poster said 2nd round picks not 6th/7th and udfa. As of this posting, he is right...none are currently under contract with the pats.

It's too bad, I had high hopes for all of those 2nd round picks.  At one point, they all had their moments, but never seemed to catch on (not giving up on Vollmer yet!, be nice if he at least stays).

2009 was a weak draft, but there were a lot of solid/studly players in that 2nd round,  I do think we got one of them in Vollmer it's just a matter if the Pats feel they can afford him, especially with his injury history

Among the DBs selected after Chung and Butler were Jarius Byrd, William Moore, and Sean Smith.   Of course hind sight is 20-20, but the Pats did not choose particularly well in that round (Vollmer excepted).  Kruger and Melton (two guys whose names have been thrown around this week as possible good fits) were also picked after the Pats picked.  The draft may not have been the deepest, but it's hard to say the Pats got the best value possible from the picks they had.

Oh my! I just realized that there is no one on the roster from 2009 or 1999 or 1989 or 1979 or 1969... or 1869. WHatever shall we do?

Oh we'll. well see how good sf does with all their picks.  See how we'll Fischer does in St. Louis.  They will do the same to them not want to trade.  Mke them use the picks.

Vollmer was a 2nd rd pick.   He may not be on the roster now, but he might be when it's all said and done.

Personally, I think BB doubling picks in Rds 1-3 in 2010 and 2011 leaves your point irrelevant and childish, to boot.

Did you just use the words irrelevant and childish?

Meanwhile, Ozzie Newsome picked Kindle or Mt Cody and Jerry Angelo is still trying to figure out how to draft in Rd 1.

I mean, we can do this all day long. These threads are so stupid.

Sure, and like I said hindsight is 20-20. Still I don't think the second round of 2009 was the Pats best showing. Had Vollmer not panned out it would have been a real dud. I don't think 2009 was a good year for BB.
