I'd give up picks 48 and 127 for him
I'd give up pick 31 if they threw in a 3rd coming bavk to us, or a 2nd in 2013 -

These are just internet rumors. There is nothing substantial in there ... though a back like Matt Forte would complete the offense, then just keep Ridley for some short yardage stuff. It would be great to have a back you don't need to take off the field on 3rd because he cannot run pass plays. -

For what it's worth it has been on twitter via Incarcerated bob. I find Incarcerated bob to be very unreliable and it seems that he is the only one spreading this rumor. -

Just rumors. I can't see the Pats trading high picks for a RB considering they took back to back RB's last year with fairly high picks to begin with.
Until some of the bigger reports start to spread the rumor it sounds more like a fan who wanted it to happen so bad he started the rumor -

Probably just a rumor, but maybe the reason they have been opening up cap space. -

I'll run with the rumor. Here's the "malcontent" angle, which is always a good sign. Forte twittered:
"There's only so many times a man that has done everything he's been asked to do can be disrespected!" read a post on Forte's Twitter account early Thursday afternoon. "Guess the GOOD GUYS do finish last ..."
"Forte was moved to make his comments on Twitter after the Bears signed former Oakland Raiders running back Michael Bush. Chicago signed Bush to a four-year deal worth up to $14 million."

Bill Belichick loves guys that throw their helmets into the crowd in disgust after the game is over. Corey Dillon threw his pads. One of the new guys threw his helmet. If Forte is a malcontent and that's all that's wrong with him, why not see if a lowball offer will work? -

seems to fit into the same conversation regarding Wallace. Love to have him, price of high draft pick AND salary makes the deal seem pretty far fetched. -

There is absolutely no chance of Forte winding up in a Patriots uniform. They are planning an all out aerial attack for next season! They have 10 receivers on their present roster and each one has had a level of success, some greater than others. Ridley,Woody, and Vereen with maybe a returning Faulk! RB set. WR set. QB set. Oline semi set. TE set. Defense might be the only place yet to improve. Special teams all major components set. The Patriots are headed back to the playoffs and quite possibly the Super bowl again,no need for an injured RB who wants his quon! -

Fullbacks are often used by pass heavy teams as larger blocking backs, when the team has a number of small scat or receiving backs that can't adequately block larger pass rushers.
So actually it is a possibility -

For what it's worth...here's an opinion on Matt Forte from a Bears' fan, who fears that he might wind up in Green Bay:
Matt Forte, RB, Green Bay Packers – As a Chicago Bears’ fan it kills me to say this. Matt Forte is a tremendous talent and to lose him to another team would be a tragedy, but to lose him to the Packers would be Apocalyptic and how fitting would that be for 2012? The Bears could stick the dreaded franchise tag on Forte but would they do it for the four touchdowns he produced in 2011? Despite his all world numbers at the beginning of the season he seemed to tire about the midway point and because of that fact combined with his season ending high ankle sprain, Forte’s stock has significantly plummeted. So, let’s say the Bears pass on franchise tagging Forte because they feel as if they would be overpaying for his services and offer him a lowball contract instead. If Forte decides to test the market, what NFL offensive juggernaut could desperately use his services? None other than the Green Bay Packers.
Here’s the thing. In this day and age running backs are a dime a dozen. They’re like plug and play computer components. One goes out, you plug another in and no big deal. Where Forte leads the Bears in everything when healthy, any back with better than marginal talent would as Chicago is challenged when it comes to pass protection and receiver talent so they’re forced to rely heavily on the run and dump passes to their backs.
Forte would help any team be good, but he would help the Packers be unstoppable. Hope it doesn’t happen but if it does…you heard it here first. http://thepenaltyflagblog.com/matt-forte-packers-3-crazy-2012-nfl-predictions

If this trade could be pulled off it would def benifit the pats giving up only a second and fourth rounder for a premier rusher like forte would be a steal. And considering the low salaries RB's are pulling down these days it probs wouldnt cost more than 5 mil a year to lock forte up long term. -

I wouldn't be surprised if Forte or his agent weren't floating rumors for a better contract from Da Bears.
If we could get him I'd love it. Imagine any defense having to deal with Gronk, Wes, Brandon in the passing game but fearing the hand off to Forte, or a swing pass to him. It would give our defense a chance to rest while we wear down the opposing team's defense.
I see another shot at the Superbowl if he joins the team and is healthy.
I say give up a 1st rounder. -

Wouldn't mind the trade, think the pats can get picks back with a trade of one of their 1st round picks but think the amount of $$ they would be willing to give Forte is not what he'll be looking for. -
