Re: Patriots Most Improved Team Of The Year?

No way, the jets are the most improved, look at how well they've developed yet another one of their top QB picks in Geno Smith, he's gotten better every week.   It's like when the Saints had Brees and drafted Manning.   Think about it, next year the same team will have Marc Sanchez and Geno Smith!!!!  Both are sure fire HOFs, but one will have to go, no way 2 legend QBs could be on the same team.  They will get multiple first rd draft pics for which ever one they trade.

The sad thing is Phat Rex won't be able to use all those draft pics they acquire on more sure fire HOF qbs since he'll be looking for a new profession after the Jets finish once again fighting buffalo for the loser of the afc east bowl, the might just take the title this year. GO JETS

Definitely one of BB's best coaching jobs. Not only is his defense decimated by injury, his next level players are UDFA's and he has them competing.

Brady is Brady. It was quite clear he has not lost a thing. Everyone saw that save for one Brady hater who trolls here.

The obvious upgrade with Gronk, Vereen and Edelman is what makes this offense go with Brady at the helm....the rookies are role players this year, learning on the job, and trying to over come the first 5 games of rookie mistakes.

Depends on your definition of "improved".

If a team comes into a season with a roster that is not expected to do much and that same roster exceeds expectations, I can see being in the "most improved" discussion.

The Pats coming into this season WAS expected to do better on defense and there were many question marks about the offense given all that was lost from the lineup of 2012.  With so many new faces and rookies, we did not know what to expect.  Did Brady "improve" over last year?  Gronk?  Edelman?  Those rookies may have improved themselves and that grade has yet to be determined as many here still think the Pats have not added those "stretch the field" WRs so many believe the team needs.  IMHO, the Pats offense simply returned to where we thought it would be, yet it still has those red zone issues, once all the parts jelled.  The defense, even with all the injuries, actually looks better than last year.  If not for the 3rd down issues, it has held its own given the close games the team has won this year.

Overall, "most improved"?  There are a few other NFL teams more deserving of that title.  Carolina for one!

Babe, we agree, there are a few teams ahead in line of the Pats.  Those losses to the Jets and Carolina hurt their stance.  Bengals, well Mother Nature had a hand in that one.

on offense? hell yea. from week 2 to where we are now is a whole another solar system. the defense? well they've only regressed.. not their fault, injuries have taken a serious toll on them. most improved offense? for sure. most improved team maybe since the offense is carrying us now

Most improved since last year, Chiefs. Most improved from beginning of the season, PATRIOTS. The PATS have shown marked improvements offensively from the first few games. They have battled through injuries on both sides yet have been able to hold ground through it all. Now the offense is  eginning to peak despite the slow start and the defense is finding ways to keeping games close for our offense to win. They have as good a shot as any now despite all the nay sayers who burried them the first few weeks into the season. What short memories some like to have.

RallyC...  you are correct...  3 - 4 games into the season it was doom and gloom around here.

Agree - Chiefs most improved since last year.  Pats most improved offensively since beginning of year.

PhatVirgin - in another thread I had you pegged as a disruptive poster.  I was mistaken, withdraw my comment from that thread and apologize.

I disagree that it was doom and gloom. Everyone was saying wait til Gronk, Vereen and Amendola get healthy and on the same page as Brady, mixing in Dobson, Ridley, Bolden, Edelman....this will be the best offense in football

    everyone was correct

i was thinking the exacg same thought. we were all down about how bad the O was but we knew things would get better. even then when the O was bad the defense so playing very well so there was still something to be positive about

In the interests of trying to keep peace, without naming screen names, there were many who damned this team in September. Yes, there were many who were optimistic, but WE were the minority. They know who they are.
