Think you are being a little too hard on the Defense.  Screw the numbers - they never let Sanchez get too comfortable. Had 5 sacks, 2 INTs - a few 3 and outs.  Defense played great tonight. Tom Braday played just like we all expected him to.
Patriots (as a team!) were great tonight.  Been a while since I oculd say that!  If the offense was on, the defense was not...

seriously, tonight Offense, Defense, Spec Teams were stellar.

They really don't appreciate him. And they don't deserve him. The guy throws up a 118 against one of the top defensive passer rating Ds in the league, on their field, and my buddy TP gives him a B (and there are many who are less appreciative of Brady than him).

But they WILL know when he is gone. They have been badly spoiled. Reality will be a harsh master on them when the time comes. Me? I'm just enjoying seeing a living legend  play the game.
In Response to Re: Tom Brady : Not really.  One pick was a gift from the gods and the other when the game was basically over and when it was obviously a passing situation.  In fact, when the game wasn't over, when it was a clear passing situation, they gave up a 70 yard TD drive. The pass rush was fair, but it was mostly poor decisions by Sanchez not getting rid of the ball in a timely fashion.
    Posted by JetMangione
The tipped pick was b/c of great defense where the defender was in the guys chest knocking the ball away... to get tipped over to an alert defender... the ball was in the air forever, any linebacker in the game anywhere near it should have grabbed it.

The pick-6 was b/c of great defense where the defender was swarming the TE and anticipating the pass perfectly... who cares if it is an obvious passing play... that's like saying your safety wasn't due to great defense b/c Brady was obviously going to pass when backed up against the goal line

    What a bunch of bull

    Pats defense played GREAT

Brady has set the bar high, but yes he has to have these 26-39 3 TD 0 INT games for us to win against good defenses and playoff teams. We faced 3 in a  row and surprise... the two games TB was slightly off, throwing behind guys, etc... we lose.

And Sanchez got 50 or so passing yards in garbage time... and of course we lost McCourty early and had no Chung at all... so pretty impressive game by the secondary... or else dirty Sanchez is just that bad

Tom would never call that moronic timeout... hahaha

Sanchez gifted the Pats 7 points.... duh... Rex was swearing a blue streak about it and Ty Law and Troy Brown called it the dumbest move of the year as they giggled together.

Greene was not touched, he just missed a real easy catch.  Funny how much more relevant garbage time picks are than garbage time passes to you.  300 yards to Mark Sanchez is all you really need to know.  The Jets gave that game away.
    Posted by JetMangione
I don't brag about how my QB threw for just over 300 yards when he was trailing by 14-21 points almost the entire 4th quarter and the other team was missing it's two best players in the secondary.

but then again, I'm not a fan of the jests.

And you def did watch a diff game.. denial is sad among the fans of the historically comical and inept Jets fans. Pats D was awesome. The only giving away of the game you did was having your pathetic QB throw dumb passes into great coverage and call a timeout considered by the experts and his coach to be the worst one called this season.

    Then you'd have still lost

It was a 21 point win

The jets have a number of issues. Sanchez is not a good QB. The trenches on both sides are depleted. Lots of picks have been dealt away for a win now mentality. The future is not bright.

The Pats have their own problems. While they have not dealt away picks for aging vets or high round disappointments, they have missed on far too many draft picks. Their future is not so bright when Brady is gone.

It was moronic because Sanchez took it right away instead of letting the play clock go down to about 1 second. I don't know how much time was on the play clock, but he could've let 30 seconds go by before calling it, which wouldn't have left the Pat's enough time to score

Brady was great. I would really like to see him warm up faster though.

Even in the recent losses he has looked very good i the last parts of the game. (not just because he playing against prevent)

Last night it took him a while to get his touch..but then again..could have been being pumped up for the big game.

    Re: Tom Brady

What a troll, Sanchez put up about 80 yards in garbage time and Brady and the offense were ineffective for the first half minus the finals minute of the second half. The D swarmed all over Sanchez and recorded a 5 sack performance against, wether you want to admit it or not, a very good OL with the best Center in football. The DBs covered well and the LBs were amazing, a defense made of duct tape held an NFL offense to 16 points, 14 if you take away Brady's safety. I'm not saying that the Jets are the 2007 Patriots offense, but when you play without your best safety, CB and MLB and the other team does nothing to take advantage of that you either have a great defensive performance or a terrible offensive performance.

    Take your pick, Mr. Mangione.

The Jets did not give that game away, the Pats took it. They played great on both sides of the field. They were prepared and they beat the Jets down. Great win by the Pats.
