Geeezzzz....they eat his contract they must be really unhappy with him. As stated here, no real savings so why not give him one more year.

Yeah Brady must hate this guy, he's gone.

Maybe that`s why we are pushing to re-sign Edelman

Brady has commanded BB to dump him.  Queenie Beanie has told us repeatedly that Brady gets what Brady wants.

They aren't going to cut him. His cap numbers would kill them for 5 years. Deal with his presence haters.

Another FA WR falls out of Brady's favor. Let's sign another one to a big contract...or we can get rookies that won't be a huge hit against the cap when Brady falls out of favor with him.

Face it, it's hard to build a WR corps around Brady.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that the guy couldn't stay healthy and was entirely ineffective when he was on the field...? Just going out on a limb here.

But your theory that Brady is biased against new WRs, and is entirely unwilling to work with them sounds much more logical and sensible.

Nonsense.  Brady has completed passes to 85 different receivers and if they leave, it's because they're garbage or old or both.

Name one receiver who left to perform better than when they had TB as their QB.

You can't because they're either junk and can't succeed anywhere or leave the game due to age or being a nut jobs.

Branch couldn't wait to get back after being paid.

Truth is BB's track record with receivers is as bad as his record with DB's except he hasn't drafted near as many with many voids to fill and that those voids are filled with trash..

Face it.. This wide reliever core around brady sucked besides Edelman.. ( Not counting gronk)  he was injured most of the year. A couple of years ago u had Gronk , ah, Welker and Lloyd and their was no complaining. Everybody knew where to go.

Second-  this decision is BB not brady .. If it where up to Tom ,  Welker would be back for peanuts. Edelman would be back, and  amendola would not have been signed. Now letting welker go was the right move .. BUT BB got AMENDOLA to replace Welker. Edelman came into his own sometimes you get lucky even the head coach... If VW or DA get the money spread out or released it will be BB not Brady's call.

Re: Patriots to decide on amendola on Tuesday.

    From PFT:

Some confusion has arisen regarding the status of Patriots receiver Danny Amendola, who will see $2 million of his $3 million base salary become guaranteed this week.

Per a league source, here’s the situation.

Amendola’s contract paid him $8 million last year, via $6 million in signing bonus and a $2 million base salary.  He also added $375,000 in roster bonuses, at $31,250 per game.

The trigger for $2 million in base salary becoming guaranteed as of the first day of the 2014 league year specifically was selected to ensure that Amendola, if cut, would be available on the first day of free agency.

If not, the $2 million becomes fully guaranteed on the first day of the league year.

A player can’t be released with a post-June 1 designation until the league year begins.  This means that the Pats can’t cut Amendola with a post-June 1 designation without guaranteeing the $2 million.

But the guarantee has offset language, which means that the Patriots would keep up to $2 million based on Amendola’s 2014 compensation elsewhere.

The Patriots have four options:  (1) cut Amendola before Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, resulting in a $4.8 million cap charge in 2014; (2) cut Amendola after Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET with a post-June 1 designation, resulting in a $1.2 million cap charge in 2014 and $3.6 million in 2015, but guaranteeing up to $2 million in base salary if he doesn’t land elsewhere; (3) trade Amendola before June 1, resulting in a $4.8 million cap charge in 2014; or (4) keep Amendola, paying him up to $3.5 million and carrying a $4.543 million cap number.

It remains unlikely that the Patriots will cut or trade Amendola.  But those are the options, along with the precise consequences for each.

Just took a look at that link.  Man o man, will I ever take that one to the bank.  Just like the other references on the page to the popular skinny pill that has doctors raving and Kim Kardashian's posting of her raciest pic ever.

No disrespect to anyone but when we start really counting on a link like that for stuff to discuss we're pretty desperate.

completely true Pezz but u can name WW as one who did as well or better considering the talent around him, the 10 tds and the win over the Pats to get to the SB

I think we are being too hard on Amendola.  He had 10 catches in his first game.  He was all over the field until he blew out his groin.  I want to see what he looks like this year if he has recovered from the groin injury.  I think he has good speed and good hands.  We often give up on a person too fast.  Let him come to camp and fight for a job.  The money is going to be the same if he is kept or let go.

Notice he could not get any separation post groin injury. Another year ..sure. Don't run him or gronk over the middle until late November.

Two things I am very confident about...I have absolutely no clue what RK and BB are going to do and neither does anybody else.  It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
