Could have, if Ben had thrown 3 more picks and you kept chop blocking everyone.  Instead, you lost.

Hopefully, some of you here HAVE to admit the Steelers played much better than the Pats and are the chief reason the Pats lost.  It is one thing to just play awful when the other team is too and your team is simply stubbing its toe all over the place.  The Steelers were on game from the first whistle and kept the Pats O off the field and the D simply looked horrible.  The Steelers deserved this win.  Let's move onto next week as 5 - 2 is a better record than half the teams in the league.

Okay, I'll "step back from the ledge" when you can explain to me who we've beaten this year that would be concidered a "decent" team.  Miami?  Nope.  San Diego?  Nope.  Dallas?  Nope, and we could have lost that game also.  Jets?  Nope, but again, much closer than it should have been.  So pray tell, what team have we beaten that was a "decent," or "good," or "better than average" team?  Answer - NONE!  Sure, I've had a few too many beers, but name me one positive we can take away from this game.  Stop teams on 3rd and long?  Nope.  Offensive production against a good D?  Nope.  Face it, a tough loss may be a tough loss, but we've not beaten anyone of significance this year.  And, given the ineptitute of our D, and our O's predictable play-calling to the point where the opponents' D looks like it knows the play better than our O, tell me where the "silver lining" is.  Fact is, we need D and O coordinators, someone better at selecting draft picks, and someone - anyone - on D that sees third and long as an opportunity instead of a given for the other team.  Until that happens, we'll be "okay," but not much better - but hey, if that's good enough for you, rock on with your bad self.  I for one, expect a bit more out of this organization.

[QUOTE]Poor officiating hurt us. If they had gotten the Gronk TD call correct, we would have had an additional 1:20 on that final drive. The lackluster defense, out-of-synch offense, and poor onside kick decision were also contributing factors. No need for the overreactions. It's one game against a good team who had something to prove. 5-2 and still atop the AFC East with Buffalo. Not perfect, but pretty good through seven games. You can't win 'em all, and this game, as we all knew, would be a very tough. Could kinda see this loss coming. Onto next week.

Poor officiating didn't hurt us - poor execution, on both sides of the ball hurt us.  Officiating had nothing to do with the end-result of this game.

Look around the league, pink hatter... Saints lose to the WINLESS Rams, the Ravens lost to the 1 - 5 Jax last Monday night...  This is called the NFL.. did you really think every game would be a win for the Pats or the other team will not play well when they play the Pats?  There is no "silver lining" if you are looking for one because there is another team on the field with the Pats. Like it or not, that other team is also trying to win the game and sometimes they do!!

Yes...   better execution by the D on those 3rd and longs Pit had many times could have been the difference.  In the end, the better team on the field today won and we must accept that.  There are some here who just do not see the Pats losing any game and whine when they do forgetting about the play of the other team.  We have been fortunate to have been in the other position more often than not, that being the Pats winning!

It was mentioned during the game that teams coming off the bye week were 3-9 this year.  Now 3-10.

Thats a huge difference from the past.  Thank the players for getting a mandate to have at least 4 straight days off during the bye.  God forbid they should stick around and practice.

Oh and a performance like this makes Gronk posing with a porn star during the bye week that much worse.  Maybe they should stick to football during the season even on the bye week.

Steelers showed how to beat Pats..put pressure on Brady(looked unconfortable all day). And if the offense doesn't win the game, the defense will surely lose it. How many 3rd and longs can you give up? they play such a passive coverage system its ridiculous..  Time for a new GM!! His defensive draft picks suck!! and I'm tired of him signing old has been linemen(hayneswoth, ellis). no playmakers on D!!! they'll make the playoffs and it'll be 1 and done again...

I got your "pink hatter" hanging Billy.  I don't expect to go 16 and 0, but I do expect to be competitive.  If you want to hang on to "parity" as an excuese to not execute on either side of the ball - rock on with your bad self.  I "get" we're going to lose sometime, but excuse me all to h-e-double L if I expected a better team effort, especially after a bye week.

Pitt had a lot to do with this, but, I do agree about execution.  With TWO weeks to prepare, the D looked like it wasn't prepared AT ALL!  Looked like it didn't know how to cover receivers or make tackles.  It is hard to understand why that D still can't slow down a passing attack...sheesh, it has enough time to figure it out.

Agree with this post wholeheartedly, and my apologies for my previous "venom."  Too many brewski's, too little patience for "half-hearted" efforts.  Again, I can take losing, but lame efforts drive me crazy (and to drink a few too many) - LOL :).  I'm hoping this will be a "wake up" call for the team, but I'm just not confident that our D will hold up in a playoff environment.
