     Unless it's a straight up, Mankins for Jackson deal, this makes no sense. The Pats still would have to sign Jackson to huge dollars. The Chargers want far too much in return...and Jackson has been a head-case off the field.

     Despite the huge discrepancy in stats...the Chargers are supposedly demanding a first and second rounder....which is a joke. They had supposedly previously offered up Jackson to the Minnesota Vikings for a second and 4th round pick in late September...but the Vikes turned them down at instead snared 33 year old Randy Moss for a 3rd rounder.      If Chargers GM, AJ Smith, continues to demand such outrageous compensation, he'll end up getting nothing for Jackson.

they are saying the asking price is a 1st and 2nd round for AFC teams. the chargers must be nuts if they think anyone will give them that for a player with 2 stikes that has to sit out 3 games. not to mention in two week the chargers will get nothing for him.

Schefter denied this last night.  We shall see.  NE is clearly kicking the tires around the league, but a 1st and a 2nd is way too high.

Carolina's 2nd and Mankins is about as high as I would go.

No love affair, he's just a guy who has experience, runs good routes and won't cost much.  Sort of like bringing in a Gaffney a few years ago, or what they hoped to get from Holt.  They're not going the marquee route to replace Moss, that just doesn't make any sense.

Thank you for answering this so I didn't have to...  this doesn't even count speed in all four directions.  Jackson is a stiff, yes he's tall can out muscle dbacks but he is about as athletic as 49Patriots.
