Name me another QB lucky enough to have such a great coach and GM like Brady has here to put out such  quality products (teams) in the cap era, past or present:

This isn't about Brady.  This is about El Bust-o Dowling, the #33 pick overall.

Russ, not to change the topic of the thread but kessel scores 30+ goals every year and seguin is going to awesome. Please don't mention either of them as bust in the same category as rasi Let alone bust at all. Not a good comparison at all bro.

BB should have known Ras would have been injured, and he should have known Hernandez was a killer. it was sooooo obvious.

Hopefully a good sign as to Dennards prospects of being a free man. It would be tough to lose both of them.

Nor was she.  We don't get to SB 42 without her.   FACT

22 carries 122 yards after Brady tossed 3 INTs and was abysmal.   I had chalked up a choke job loss by the end of the 3rd qtr.

Good thing he bailed out Brady.

HIs 2008 was good too, protecting Cassel early on.  2009, solid.

He also was not a top 5 pick, so I literally have no idea how that is compared to Chia botching Kessel or Seguin. Seguin was 2nd overall! LOL!

    Horrendous!

I haven't seen a GM in hockey take top 5 picks like that when he doesn't even like them.

"Wake me when BB botches a top 5-10 pick or even a 1st rd pick."

A first round pick plays four years for the team, never breaks 1,000 yards or gets to double digits in TDs in a season and is traded for a fourth round pick.

You know all of this is true, which is why you want to talk about hockey instead.  You must hate that it doesn't work.

We're supposed to wake you when your idol botches a 1st round pick.  Well, wake up.

Ras didn't make it, Dennard and Logan Ryan will... this is the nature of the draft, our great GM provides us with numerous picks, the more picks the more likely you are to hit winners.  This is true of scratch off tickets, lottery tickets, it's true of draft picks...  people are not dependable.

Why wasn't it Ras-I driving drunk in Nebraska?

If you are referring to Denard, he wasn't driving drunk in Nebraska either and just to set the record straight, he wasn't arrested for driving drunk. He was arrested for SUSPICION of driving drunk. In other words he was arrested for "I don't care if you passed all the sobriety tests I can give you I'm still writing you up for drunk driving in the only way I can".

NOs took underachieving and inferior Mark Ingram (over Ridley). Ingram has done very little in his first 2 seasons.

NE then had TWO 1st rd picks in 2012, CHandler Jones (thank you NOs) and Hightower.

So, Vereen Rd 2, Ridey Rd 3 vs taking the bait on Mark Ingram. And we get Chandler Jones as the cherry on top, the DROY of the year last year until a sprained ankle in 2012.

    Come again?

    CAREER STATS

    Vereen:  457 yards, 5 TDs

    Ingram:  1,151 yards, 11 TDs

"Ingram has done very little in his first 2 seasons."  If Ingram has done very little, what has Vereen done?

Vereen is not a starter. He's a scatback who was behind Woodhead last year and not a 1st rd pick who was traded up for either. Please post Ridley's numbers so the board can see why you tried to be sneaky right there, avoiding Ridley's numbers.

INgram's knee best not act up again on that turf either. lol

The discussion is Vereen/Ridley w/Jones as the cherry on top or would you rather just have yielded Mark Ingram.

How is this even debatable? Apparently it is with you being a moron, digging yourself a deeper hole.  BB gets two All Star caliber starters and a specialist where NOs gets 1 starter who isn't as good as what Ridley provides here.

    That's called a fleece job.

Yes, Queenie.  Vereen is not a starter.  He's a second round bust with half as many yards as third rounder Powell.

Powell blows and may be your starter. Expect poor results.

Powell blows, but had twice as many yards as Vereen, who doesn't?  Oh Queenie, what an idiot you are.  Tell me again how Ridley had 1600 yards last year.  That was one of your most awesome lies.

Almost 1300, yes. Not a lie.

    1200 something.

Powell blows.  He's supposed to be the guy, but they traded for Ivory in fear he isn't.

Vereen lit up a good Houston D last postseason. Did you miss that? Wake us when Powell scores 3 TDs in a postseason game.

So, what your saying is that because the Jets used a third round pick on Powell, "he supposed to be the guy"  Therefore, they cannot use a 4th round pick on another back?  Tell me Queenie, when Vereen was taken in the 2nd round, was he "supposed to be the guy"?

No. Vereen is a scatback and a replacement for Woodhead.  He's not lead back material. They wanted to have Woodhead groom Vereen in the role. Ridley is the bigger back who can between the tackles.

Bilal Powell has spent 2 years doing nothing besides sucking or being average.

So, it's ok to suck (half as many yards as Powell) if you were drafted in the 2nd round as a backup "scatback" but you think twice as many yards as Vereen as a backup drafted in the 3rd round is a problem?

Are you following me here, Queenie.  You look like a real idiot.  One guy cannot be a great pick and the other be a bust taken in a later round and with more production.

I didn't say Vereen was a great pick, though. You are claiming Powell is a great pick. I am not.

NE wanted a smart guy who could handle pass receiving as an RB in the Brady led offense, They just nailed the Ridley pick a rd later, which has you in a tizzy.

Hey!   Has Joe McKNight found a new team yet or is he fully realized as a bust? bwahahah!

Back to calling a 4th round pick that was a top KR and running at 6ypc a bust, Queenie, really?

And I never said anything about Powell. He is what he is.  A third round pick who's been in the NFL for two years who had twice as many yards as Vereen who was drafted in the 2nd round.  It's just this simple.  Whatever you think of Powell, Vereen is worse.

Powell is just mediocre. Not bad. Not good.

Vereen is good and perhaps will be VERY good. He has game breaking speed. He has enough power to run between the tackles. He is one of the better RBs going downfield as a real receiver, not just dump off guy. He was already an accomplished recevier in college. I am thrilled you dont like Vereen. ANd equally thrilled you like who you have. Talent in players and coaches is how the Pats make the Jets their plaything every single year.

Wonder if you will ever win a division title in your lifetime... It is not looking good for the next few years.

"With the roster spot cleared by waiving Dowling, the Patriots claimed linebacker Ja'Gared Davis off waivers."

The last 4 pick up by the Pats" Morris, Vallone, Pena and Davis are all undrafted free agents. Morris and Vallone were cut earlier by the Pats. Pena (age 26) and Davis were waived by other teams. How likely are the Pats find undiscovered gems in those? They might have been missed for whatever reason in the draft, but they did not make it as undrafted free agents either after teams had a look at them in the initial training camps.

This just might be one of my favorite threads ever.  I once again gone through and read all the Rusty ownage that has taken place in here.

This was me the entire time reading the posts.....

Why he keeps coming back I will never, ever know.  Has he even made one valid post or won a debate on here in the past 6 months?  I don't think so.

When you keep getting owned time and again by not one, not two, not three but 20 different people in one thread and you keep coming back for more... you need to get some friends!  Some real friends because this getting owned all day long can't be good for you self esteem.   Rusty's posts in here are so ridiculous that it is down right embarrassing to read.  I am totally embarrassed for the guy.  Rusty, do you have any family or friends that you could talk to that might be able to be nice to you or do you treat them the same way you treat people in here and in return get owned by them too?

How many of these trollish threads do we need spamming the board at once? Anyone could have seen this was coming. He hasn't played all preseason!

We don't need 75 threads on each cut either. We got 22 more coming after tomorrow night's game.

It's old news it was a bad pick.  Still doesn't ruin what was a great draft with Solder, Ridley, Vereen, etc.

Can we get past the crap where it's supposedly a fact all other NFL teams hit on every single pick in a draft every year?

I love how Babe comes out of the woodwork for this, too. What a loser.

    what position does "etc" play?

You forgot Graham, Warren, Watson, Meriweather and McCourty.

These were all either never in a pro-bowl, cut within the rookie contract or moved to another position than what they were drafted for.

With Maroney that's six meh 1st round picks over 11 years.
