    Pats gain 4 more picks

This good news and will only add more firepower to the wheeling and dealing that BB will do.

    Four more picks
The NFL announced the 2010 compensatory draft picks, awarding 32 additional picks to 19 teams.

The Patriots received the most extra picks, with a maximum of four — one in the sixth round and three in the seventh.

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lose “more or better’’ free agents than they acquired in the previous season; the caliber of the picks (slots are given for the third through seventh rounds) are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time, and postseason honors.

The Patriots lost free agents Heath EvansJabar GaffneyLarry Izzo,LaMont Jordan, and Lonie Paxton before the 2009 season, signing onlyBrandon McGowan.

The Patriots now have 12 picks in next month’s draft: one in the first round, three in the second, one in the fourth, two in the sixth, and five in the seventh.

Not much wheelin and dealin with compensatory picks - I believe teams can not trade these pics.  They do allow the pat's to deal their other picks, though.
