If the Pats get by the second round opponent? -- The Pats play on Sunday while Denver plays on Saturday, yet Denver is the #1 seed therefore playing at home in the AFC Championship. This gives Denver an extra day of rest/preparation while the Pats will have to fly to Denver with one less day. Wouldn't it make more sense to schedule the Pats for the Sat game rather than Denver who will be at home. So Pats get 1 less day of rest/prep and ALSO have to fly to Denver----more catering to PM?

The extra day ain't going to help Denver, assuming they win.

Its all based on ratings as to when they schedule the playoff games.

Over the years the PATS have always gotten the worst playoff schedules. NFL's way of trying to even it out.

Still doesn't make sense to have the #2 seed travel, and with ONE less day off, if both go to the AFC Championship--Pats should have been slotted for the Sat game with Denver on Sunday--very illogical scheduling? -

Won't matter when all is said and done, if the Pats go into Denver, the Pats will break that Bronco!!!

I thought that same thing earlier this week. -

Yes it would make sense according to logic and fairness, neither of which current NFL understands or cares about.Still a normal week sun-sun...

C'mon now, it's not like the Pats have a short week. If they win, they'll be playing 2 Sundays in a row, after a bye week. I think they'll be able to handle it.

The Patriots have a bye week, a pretty outrageous gift considering that Indy could have laid down and waited for the playoffs. Then the Pats get a reasonable opponent at home who will probably go down pretty fast, and finally they can be pretty sure of playing Denver.
If I were BB I would be practicing versus Denver for at least one day of the bye week, laying in those critical plans early.

The schedule won't hose the Pats - that's the benefit of getting the number one seed - we had our chance and didn't get it done. What worries me more, assuming of course we meet the Bronco's in the AFC championship game, is the perverbial phantom PI call at a critical time late in the game. But I'll worry about that later - let's just get there first!

Yeah, I agree with other people. Denver was the 1 seed, they deserve to get that extra day.
Last season, Pats were the 1 seed and got the Saturday Night game. Baltimore had 1 less day plus the travel day.

You all seem to forget that we have the Second Coming of Christ leading the team as our QB.
If the defense does not blow it like the last 4 postseasons, Tom will get his 4th ring.
And if you're doubting Brady's god-like abilities, then LMAO@U

Lets' worry about the Broncos if and when the Pats' get there. The first order of business is to handle Arian Foster, JJ Watt, overconfidence, and the Houston Texans. Remember the 2010 Patriots, and the Jets? -

Yes, stop the whining, Jimmy. One game at a time. Let's successfully take care of the Texans first. And if DEN lost to, let say BAL, the AFC Championship game will be played in Foboro, so no traveling time.

If this scenario plays out(Pats visit Denver) any "screwing" will come in the form of Goodell and his Zebras during the game. Watch.

I agree, thats the one thing that concerns me about that game if they play each other. Manning is always good for drawing at least one phantom PI call on a critical 3rd down stop by the Patriots. Hate to say it but at some point in the game it will happen, hopefully it wont matter, the Patriots are easily the better team. -

Is alittle odd because it happens again today. Since Houston won, whoever wins today -- Indy/Balt. has to go to Denver and play on 1 day less rest then normal.
