From WEEI.com:
The Patriots on Wednesday announced the signing of defensive lineman Terrell McClain. Marcus Fortson, a defensive tackle who was signed as an undrafted free agent in April, was released to make room on the roster.
McClain, a 6-foot-2, 291-pounder from South Florida, was chosen in the third round of the 2011 draft by the Panthers. He had 19 tackles (12 unassisted) and one sack in 12 games last season. After failing to impress this preseason, he was cut on Sept. 2 when Carolina signed former Bills defensive lineman Dwan Edwards.
McClain will wear No. 93 in New England.

BB doesn't miss on these kind of pick ups. It is likely that this guy has something to contribute and will under the guidance of BB.

we need a better scheme and not the players. the talent is there. If seatle can play better with no names WT heck. We blitzed only 2 times in raven game. So why there are so many in coverage and still ravens getting completions.

BB misses all the time on these types of pick ups. Every year he makes a half-full dozen of these moves in the first couple of weeks alone and it's rare that they work out. But, then again the players he lets go to make these moves generally don't make it on other teams anyways so not a big loss. Frankly I like these moves. If you know a player won't cut it on your team why would you continue to keep them on your team? Might as well take a chance on another teams prospect. It's like a say, if two things look similar but you know the one you have isn't working then what do you honestly lose trying the new one?

They come-they go. At this point it's not a big deal. Nothing game changing is going to happen in the roster department.

BB misses about 75% of the time on these kind of pickups. However, he keeps trying and that's why he succeeds. Jabar Gaffney was at least the third waiting-by-the-phone pickup in a line of wide receivers at one point.
