Sorry, no matter who lines up at safety, the Pats are continually getting gashed on long passes. Have given up more long plays so far this year than ALL of last seasn.

    Not a good thing.

Another whining fan.  waaaah. You're a jets troll.

Does Mommy let you play with daddy's keyboard often? Sorry to see you can't handle "reality" (go ask Mommy what this means). Stay strong in your Brady Dr Dentons and snuggle bankie.

(Only a juvenile woudl rspond as you did. Nice original thoiught and response!)

its already been said that the majority of those takeaways have been fumbes not picks the secondary hasnt done anything lately and even the last pick they got was because ballwas under thrown

It may be more about how they are coming up with the turnovers.
Is that ball underthrown because the QB really flubbed the throw, or because he was being pressured by the DL?
Are the fumbles because the D is hitting people hard, stripping the ball etc., or because there's a bad hand-off, or a receiver is bobbling the ball?

Honestly, it seems if BB sets up his secondary to give up yards just hoping the QB messes up one time, and they go for the pick.  The Pats went 2 games without getting a pick before that ugle underthrown ball by dirty S.  The Pats being tied for first in takeaways can't just be thrown under rug as some are trying to do.  This is the second best stat this defense can hold on to.  They also are great at stopping the run.

I feel the linebackers need to show a little more in coverage, and it goes without saying that we need to shore up the secondary.  Honestly guys, it really doesn't help playing 3 rookies back there fulltime.  When Chung and Gregory come back it is going to help a lot.  In the meantime the young guys are getting plenty of work in.

dennard looked pretty good on sunday other than a couple of plays.....he may have saved a td by grabbing on to a receivers jersey and taking the penalty....he does seem to have good ball skills....i have no idea what is going on with dowling though.

"he may have saved a td by grabbing on to a receivers jersey and taking the penalty."

yes saw that and called it on the game thread at the time.

dennard and dowling are the best 2 cbs at the moment.

They also lead the league in 30 plus yard plays allowed this season and have allowed the most TDs of any defense over the course of the last few years.

The D is good enough to win the division and perhaps advance into the AFC playoffs given this is a down year in the AFC.

However this is not a championship caliber defense yet. Maybe by the end of the year.

It is great we are getting some takeways. Crucial stops in big situations would be nice. Ninkovich is showing some potential to do that.

i posted this on monday before the bears played the lions, so the lions have taken over the #1 spot in takeaways, but yes ninkovich has been great.....this is the same things that were happening last year and they ened up going to the super bowl in part due to big plays made by the secondary....obviously they have been giving up way too many big plays and its very frustrating, but im trying to be positive and think maybe they can turn it around....they do have some skilled players back there who just arent performing well.

if you ar referrign to our dbs they have not performed well for a year and a half.

so they are either beign coached into playing like crap or are juet terrible or both.

if not for very poor below competent qb play and many drops by wrs we would be even more prolifically bad, as in the baddest ever (not in a good way) as long as these stats have been taken.

    idiot

What do you know? You're just a NY Giant troll on a Patriots forum.  Just because you beat us in  two recent Superbowls doesn't mean anything.  The Patriots are still a better team - they are the best.

In fact, your worse than a Giants Troll.....you're a NY Jets Troll posing as a NY Giants troll. You poser, you.

by the way, the giants are better than the pats right now. any pats fan with eyes that work can see that.
