McVeigh killed 19 kids and 149 adults, didn't use a gun, wasn't high tech or difficult to pull off either. 9/11 wasn't perpetrated with the use of a single gun, they used razor knives. Easily pulled off by determined individuals. There are approx 80 million legal gun owners in the US and none of them had anything to do with this. Connecticut ALREADY has some of the toughest gun laws in the country, what good did it do against a determined individual. A DETERMINED individual can very easily kill a LOT of people with very little effort in this country and they don't need a gun to do it
