Lets be the typical Yets fan for one second.

Plax with an ankle injury is still 10, no, 100 times better then Braylon Edwards and Mason makes Cothery look like a practice squad WR.

    Right...

    lmfao

I know. I actually choked on my water for a second when I read it. If he weren't a Jets fan, I would have just assumed he was taking a shot at New Jersey.

jets are among the most overrated teams in sports.. they take a step back this year and will struggle to make the playoffs.  their defense will still be good but their offense will be horrid.

Brad Smith, Edwards, Drew Coleman, Idegibho, and maybe Ellis. And you just cut Cotchery after trying to TRADE him to due to DESPERATION cap issues.

OH NOES!!!! not SMITH, EDWARDS, COLEMAN, DIGGS and ELLIS!!!!

oh well, looks like we are a lock for the first pick in the draft this year....so depressed....

In Response to Re: Plax hurt already... : Wow! You sure are an educated fan.  So, signing a former player from the NFLS best defense in 2009 to replace another backup is a move of desperation?  And Cotch was cut becasue the Jets only had 7 mil left under the cap and that wasn't enough?  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/05/cotchery-asked-for-trade-in-february/   Are you sure about that?  Really really sure? I know you want so badly for Revis not to be the best cornerback, but I keep telling you , 1)just becasue you want it to be true, does not make it true and 2) you're an idiot and are in no way qualified to judge anything concerning the quality of NFL palyers.  But these guys are. http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/01/17/is-revis-the-nfls-best-cornerback/ http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2011-06-05-nfl-best-cornerbacks_N.htm http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post/_/id/23050/power-rankings-top-10-nfl-cornerbacks http://bleacherreport.com/articles/691887-2011-top-ten-cornerbacks-revis-edges-asomugha-woodson-bailey-defy-age But let's just say that all of these folks in the business of watching games, films, crunching numbers and ranking football players are all wrong. And in fact, Aso, is the best corner.  So, now, your moronic claim becomes that the Jets tried to sign the best cornerback in the NFL and did not, so were forced to keep the guy who had a great year last year... bw ha hahahahahhahahahhahahahha you're an idiot.

In Response to Re: Plax hurt already... : I don't know if he's the best, but Queenie has gone on record claiming he's better than Revis.  He just hasn't been able to tell me why that pass D was so awful with such a great corner.

oh pass D, shmash D, it is because he had more tackles.  remember? true test of the CB in the 3-4, can he tackle more than your LB....

This is a stupid argument on both sides, the only thing that matters is the superbowl.

@Yet fans- How bout you go back to where you came from, because you haven't won anything. You, and the rest of the Jets fans/ organization is obsessed with beating the Patriots. All you do is talk about the PATRIOTS, talk about BB, talk about Brady and build your entire team around the idea of the 2-3 games a year you play against us. How about you focus on winning because the last time you;ve done that is what, 40+ years?

Anything less than a championship is a failure, and Jets fans have taken the baton from Red Sox fans as the biggest whiners in sports.

You have to understand that this site is the only place they can pretend to be adults without fear of getting slapped around.

Things that have happened since the Jets were last in a Super Bowl....

We landed on the moon several times.
We developed and used the space shuttle for 30 years
    3 Woodstock Concerts
8 Presidents have been in the White House including 3 for 2 terms
The personal computer and internet were invented
    Cell phones were invented
The Communist block desinigrated and the Berlin Wall came down
Touch tone phones replace rotary dial ones
McDonalds went from 1000 locations to 32,000
Color TVs replaced black and white TVs as the most common type found in households

In Response to Re: Plax hurt already... : Not quite.  How many teams had 4-50 catch receivers last year?  I'll give you a hint.  The Patriots had 1 - so it's not them.

Oh . . .  are we changing the parameters now that you're being laughed off the board?

Who was talking about four 50-catch receivers? You mentioned Dustbowl, Santa Claus Holmes and Laydown, and that trio is little different than any team can roll out there this year.

Oh, and while we're giving out hints, here's one for you:

Isolating meaningless statistics that fit your argument but don't buttress any argument is not a way to shine brightly on these fine internets.
