Well this can help the D. You know the old, the best defense is a good offense. The Pats need a solid, time consuming, running game to keep that D off the field as much as possible. Hopefully Fred Taylor will stay healthy all year and provide this.

How exactly do you plan on getting these guys ina trade? are they available? deangelo williams is a dream here. i am curious as to when Dallas will move one of their RB's.
I have to agree with other posters on here we need to sure up some defense. we have too many RB's as it is with Maroney, Taylor, Morris, Faulk and Green-Ellis. -

A running back can’t get after the QB. They better get a nasty big guy with an attitude.
I’ll say this again for the umpteenth time, call Washington and swing a deal for big Al.
We can’t go thru another season of no effective pass rush if we hope to be playing in February.

Our running game has been effective in pre season. All four backs have had bright spots.
The pats aren't trading for a running back! Its not happening
If anything, additional de/olbs
possible you will see the pats trade away a player or two but we wont be getting a running back especially not

tim hightower
deangelo williams
They aren't available for trade.
The rest have their own issues. You could make an argument for mcgahee because the ravens need cbs but I highly doubt that will happen.
To this point our running game has been sufficient and it is not the major area of concern -

brandon jacobs - injury prone and the giants aren't sure if Bradshaw can make it the entire season
marion barber - could be possible but again, don't think the cowboys think that Felix can handle a full load
tim hightower - ain't happening with Tate down
deangelo williams - would cost a top 5 pick plus
willis mcgahee - intriguing but he's not really a huge upgrade
larry johnson - who would actually want this jerk?
willie parker -again, another possibility that is intriguing.
only one of two of these guys would even be viable and your basically picking up another Fred Taylor, a RB on the down side of his career. -

huh? i think we're fine at RB.
although I think maroney's limited play has something to do with a possible trade? packaged with a disgruntled lineman for some draft picks
