Predict Where These Notable Free Agents Are Going to Land

    Nnamdi Asomugha: Houston Texans
    Santonio Holmes: New York Jets
    Sidney RiceMinnesota Vikings (Seattle Seahawks)
Antonio Cromartie: New York Jets (once they eventually realize that they can't afford Nnamdi they'll come back to Cromartie)
    Matt Hasselbeck: Tennessee Titans
Braylon Edwards: Washington Redskins (the Jets can't afford to bring back Holmes, Cromartie and Edwards, atleast one of them is going to have to go)

Asomugha - Detroit.  The Texans are a good choice as well.  Both teams have nothing in the defensive backfield and both teams go up against great QBs in their divisions.  The Rams might be another place.

Holmes - anything about a WR is going to be hard to figure.  There are so many FAs out there.  This means that if an offer is made by their original team it would be in their best interest to resign with that team.  Agreed, Jets.

Rice - falls into the same as above.  Minnesota

Cromartie - After getting Holmes back on board their will be no room.  They have to think about the OL before a CB.  My guess is the Texans.

Hasselbeck - This has been so publicized.  Titans.

Edwards - Oakland.  The land of misfit toys.

    Hasselbeck chooses Titans

At a time when multiple teams were believed to be chasing veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, the former Seahawk has decided to join the Titans.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Hasselbeck has agreed to terms on a multi-year deal.

It’ll be interesting to see the specifics of the financial package, given that the Titans used the eighth overall pick in the draft on quarterback Jake Locker.

Coach Mike Munchak recently said that he wants a veteran who can mentor and compete with Locker and Rusty Smith.

Early word is that Seattle will go hard after Cindy Rice.

Makes sense. Former Vikes offensive coordinator (and boy . . .   was he offensive) Darrell Bevel (sp?) will be doing his best to make Pete Carroll look like Brad Childress -- shouldn't be hard -- up there in the rain.

Oh . . .  and not for nothing, but the Seahawks are also said be ready to sign both Tarvaris Jackson and Matt Leinart.

    Let the good times roll.

Cromartie will go to the highest bidder. Maybe the Texans? Rice will remain a Viking IMO. They can still tag him cant they? Nnamdi hopefully wont go to the Jets but he might. I think he will end up in Houston and then Cromartie will go to Oakland.

    Killa,

The Vikings (wisely) tagged Chad Greenway.

While Minnesota may yet retain Rice -- there are plenty of quality receivers available and his grand scheme to keep his value high going into free agency -- postponing his hip surgery and essentially tanking an entire season to protect his Brett Favre numbers -- may backfire on him. There are serious health and consistency questions about this guy, but again, if Santonio Holmes is worth $10 million, I would imagine there is some equally developmentally challenged (apparently you can't say retahded anymore) team (Washington?) out there who will pay even more for Cindy.
