Re: Preseason Playoff Picks (On Paper)

Good thread, Russ.  It's never too early to start with predictions as they are always fun.

    AFC

    North: Bengals

    South: Texans

    West: Broncos

    WC: Dolphins, Chargers

    NFC

    East: Cowboys

    North: Packers

    West: 49ers

    South: Falcons

    WC: Seahawks, Saints

Re: Preseason Playoff Picks (On Paper)

    MY thoughts

    AFC East: New England

AFC North: Cincy...I really think this is the year they finally take the division.

    AFC South: Houston

    AFC West: Denver

WCs: The Wild cards are tricky imo. I'll go with:

Baltimore - I think they recovered enough of what they lost to at least make the playoffs.

Indy - This is the tough one. I could see KC or Miami (who I really like if Tannenhill improves) slipping in here...Chargers are also a candidate if Rivers can return to form. However, I'm going to go with Luck in his 2nd year. It'll be a close one, in my opinion.

    NFC:

NFC East - I picked Dallas last year and got burned. While I expect Dallas to compete and maybe win it, I'm going with the New York Giants.

    NFC North - Green Bay

NFC South - Atlanta, although Saints will be in the fight too

NFC West - SF, with Seattle just missing

    WCs:

    Seattle

Either Dallas or New Orleans...I'll go with New Orleans.

Hate to pull a BB on you but can we get through OTA's first. LOL

I don't mind it. This is the part of the year where the board is slow...IMO anything football-related is welome at this point.

    In response to BassFishingII's comment:

Ok, so after FA, the draft, select your division winners and Wild Cards:

    AFCE - NE

    AFCN - Cincy

    AFCS - Houston

    AFCW - Denver

    WCs

    Balt

    KC

    NFCE - Dallas

    NFCN - GB

    NFCS - Atlanta

    NFCW - SF

    WCs

    SEA

    STL

I think if RGIII comes back healthy the Redskins may be able to make another run at the playoffs.

Well when you're in a division that regularly has a Division Champion with a 9-7 record, playoff berths shouldn't be that hard to achieve.

KC should improve from last season, but I don't buy them as a playoff team.

NE, Baltimore, Houston, Denver .... Cincy, Indianapolis (boring, I know. same as last yr)

New York, Green Bay, Atlanta, Frisco .... Seattle, Chicago

Tampa should be interesting if they can get some good quarterback play.

neither are wins when ur from the NFC East and play the Pats it seems

that's what real competition in ur division and conference does for you when the chips are on the table

FWIW, NY is the only team that has had success against NE. The rest of the NFCE is something like 1-7 against the Pats since 2000.

*edit* was bored so checked the head to head for AFCE and NFCE since 2000 because I'm tired of the back and forth. NFC wins 30-22. Only team other than NE to have a winning record against any of the NFCE teams was Buffalo at 3-0 against Washington. Jets were the most pathetic at 2-10

    NE 11-4      BUF 5-7      NYJ 2-10     MIA 4-9

    NYG 10-4    DAL 7-5      PHI 8-5      WSH 5-8
