Because it's fun to see the difference before and after. Who you were right about and who you were very wrong about. Nothing wrong with it.

I still wonder about Slater.  If they keep 3 QB's, I think he could be on the bubble

Never. BB will not cut the best gunner in football and a captain. No way.

I also think Mallett gets dealt at the end of camp with BB keeping 2. Maybe not, but just a hunch.

Slater's going nowhere in my opinion.  The guy is a killer ST player.

Reasonable list based on what these guys have done in the past, but what they did in the past will have less relevance than what they do in camp and preseason, and as Karp points out, we don't have that more relevant performance data yet.

I'm with you about Slater--I'd be very surprised if he's cut. At the same time, Slater fills a fairly narrow set of roles, all of which can be played by other players (he's basically a gunner, a situational blocker, and an emergency receiver). That does make him more vulnerable than many players.

Pretty good attempt for this time of year.

The only real flaw I see is there is no long-snapper on the 53-man squad.    That won't fly.  The Horror.

Slater is captain of the Special Teams and a terrific gunner.  BB would never, in a million years, cut him to keep a 3rd quarterback.

    How about for the 2015 season as well?  These projections and guesses are getting out of hand.  Yeah, I know, this is a slow time of year and everyone needs their football fix regardless of how. (-;

Hey, in the absence of real football news, I posted a link to one guy's S.W.A.G. projection on a roster just for the he11 of it.  Of all the things that get posted in this board, some of which elevate ignorance to an art form, I can't imagine what the issue is in posting this.  But what the he11 do I know?

Unless Grap shows some significant skills in camp, I dont see the value in keeping 3 Qbs, esp. if its true that Brady wants to play into his 40's and kraft wants him to retire a Pat. Either Grap is gonna outplay Mallet and he gets released or traded last minute for a 7th round pick or Grap gets released after showing nothing and we wasted a good 2nd rounder...similar to Kevin O'connel in the 3rd round some years back

Braxston Cave was the long snapper for Notre Dame, which would be a unique roster edge for us having an all purpose center/guard also handling long snapping duties.  No need to waste a roster spot on a specialist who hardly plays.

He's my favorite new lineman, thanks to rkarp for suggesting I take a deeper look.

Grap value is next year as the number 2. This is a redshirt year for him. Zero snaps in the regular season

I can see that. I just dont see Mallet with him. I doubt Grap would clear waivers to get on the p/s so he is gonna need to be a backup THIS year while Mallet is sent packing. I think they like Grap's skillset(good IQ, vision, decent arm) over Mallets(cannon arm, inconsistent accuracy) to excel in this system and they will showcase Mallet this training camp in hopes to trade him before the season to a team who may have an injury to one of their Qbs or just some team that has always had interest. This late in the game, I cant see the Pats getting more than a 6th for him but thats good if the plan was to release him anyway. I dont think Mallets brain moves fast enough back there and he looked slow in his progressions the limited time he played. Now Grap isn't any better NOW but I think they like him better longterm.

Too many roster crunches to carry to 3 QBs IMO this year

If it works out that way, great.   But on the other hand if they end up carrying 3 QBs (2 of whom won't ever play) it works out to be the same as last year when they only carried 2 QBs.

Yanno, that's what I thought but apparently it's much more appropriate on this board to trade school yard insults than project, albeit much too early, what the roster might look like.

No bitterness. Extreme interest in AH and how it falls. Neighbors with the guy ( shudder)

Cant understand ranking players that have yet to put on pads. Simply asking how is it done. A hunch? A guess?
