    Good roster, troyl.

    My comments:

    Remove:
    Brace (PUP)
Orhnberger (release. has not given a reason to be on roster)
Tate (release. can his KR ability keep him on team? he's clearly last on depth chart)
Morris (release. no danger of losing him to another team)

    Add:
    Faulk (PUP)
    Deadrick (PUP)
Anderson (young and fast. regain 2006 form?)
    Maneri (athletic, but raw).
Whilhite (not my favorite. can you have enough CB's?)
    White (special teams ace)

Personally, if there's chance we keep 5 RB's, let Morris go and pick up Willis McGahee. He's a tough runner up the middle. Plenty left in the tank and I will never forget how he came back from that devasting knee injury before the draft.

Orhnberger (release. has not given a reason to be on roster)
Maybe if Haynesworth would stop using him as ahood ornament, he might just get a chance to show his potential. I would like to see Faulk stick around (purely sentimental reasons...but it would be bad business) and Sergio who adds some depth to our rather hard hitting safety crew.

Good post but i would rather keep Faulk then Morris. Faulk is a better player but yet a better teacher and leader on this team then Morris would be.

*Bold = Not on team as of now.

I think special teams, while still very important, won't be as important this year with the kickoff being moved up to the 35. A lot more touchbacks, fewer run back opportunities.

BB, in a headline here on BDC, said "Faulk was an inspiration to us all"  I believe he meant Kevin not Marshall.  When the cut-down to 53 happens, Faulk will announce his retirement.  He is coming off a tough injury, tough for a young player and even tougher for an older player.  I would love for him to stay a part of the Patriots in some capacity, or have him and someone else replace those 2 idiots on 98.5 in the morning.

Brace, Faulk and Deadrick are on PUP list.  They will remain there for the first 6 weeks of the season.  No need ot cut or rush them.

Smith is a keeper as he looked very good in practice and he is a long snapper and very good blocker so Bill saves a roster spot by keeping him.

    Re: Projecting the Final 53

Although I love Faulk, his skill set is duplicated by the younger Vereen and Woodhead. With the possible move to a 4-3, we have less need for 2nd tier linebackers (like Tracy White) who play special teams. Therefore, I think Morris has more value than Faulk for his special team skill set, an area on the roster that is thin if they keep the 3rd quaterback and extra defensive lineman.
