Moss was still a factor.  There was one play late in the game where Welker caught a slant in space that Moss had just cleared out.  He took the safety with him.  It was a beauty.  When he's not catching, he's a decoy and they make use of the space he creates.  Great stuff.

Mike Reiss wrote that Moss was happy with the win and did not care that he didn't catch a ball - was a good soldier and team guy.  Seems that Randy just wants to win games and understands his role.  Per Mike Reiss --

Randy Moss' post-game response. The veteran receiver was targeted in the passing game just once and finished without a reception for the first time in his Patriots tenure. Moss had no issues with the lack of action. Before the game he was one of the players gathering all of his teammates and reminding them of the importance of sticking together on the road, which reflects how Moss sometimes takes on a leadership role. He has been on board with how things are unfolding.

Moss was doubled most of the night. My issue with him is that he looks miserable out there not even smiling at the end of the game when we won a big game. He should be happy for the team........he clearly isn't ...........His body language out there stinks..............

Moss' route was towards the inside of the endzone. Brady, whose only play was to go to the outside, made a solid pass. But with Moss going the other direction and having to turn the last second, it was near impossible to make the catch. Most people see Moss simply dropping the pass. That wasn't the case. For Moss to even get his hands on it was remarkable.

While we have come to expect Moss to make that play, it would have been sheer luck for any of the great receivers to do it. His whole momemtum was taking him away from the ball and he had to reach across his body to try to make a play.

Did any of you guys hear Colin Cowherd this morning? His take was that the Patriots are making a conscious effort to start moving away from Moss as a target. He made it sound like BB was trying to show that he doesn't have to depend on a guy like Moss who tends to think about himself first. I generally agree with this guy, but I'm not sure there's any truth to this point.

According to Foxsports Jay Glazer, the Vikings and Patroits are working on a deal that would send Randy Moss back to Minnesota.. I'm a life-long Viking fan and Moss fan and I would love to see Randy finish where he started. This is not a hoax guys, go to profooballtalk.com if you think I'm lying.

News: FOXSports.com is reporting the Vikings and Patriots are very close to a trade involving New England WR Randy Moss. The report also states that the deal can't be done until Moss works out a new deal with Minnesota, which the two sides are working on. Moss expressed his frustration regarding his future with the Patriots earlier this season and even believed that this would be his last year with the team. Meanwhile, the Vikings made a trade earlier Tuesday involving a defensive player, meaning that as of now they're a man short on their 53-man roster. Moss was targeted once and held catchless in Week 4 at Miami.

Gotta think this makes the Pats the mystery team in Vincent Jackson trade rumors

Just heard this on Sirrus NFL Radio...reporting that it could be for defensive players in return for Moss.  Vikings need Moss to spread defenses.

    Re: Randy moss

Moss for one of the Vikings defensive linemen and a conditional pick (3-5 round depending on how Randy does) would be about right.  Tate becomes the deep threat and Hernandez takes Tates spot as a wideout, for this to happen Pats must be high on Price and/or Jenkins as backups because Edelman is just Welker's backup as a slot receiver and Slater is not really a wide receiver but just a special teamer.
    Hernandez

Edelman better be ready ... because Price sure isn't.

As a season ticket holder for 15 years I would be very upset at the Patriots Brass - because this would result in the Patriots tanking the season. Remember the Lawyer Milloy fiasco when they got shut out by Buffalo. This would send a shockwave through the team resulting in another lost year for Tom Brady in his prime!

You don't trade a weapon like Moss simply because he is disgrunted. Why is it the Jets can sign whoever and whatever they want and the Patriots never seem to have enough money. Mr Karaft we season ticket holders have supported you for many years now is not the time to begin cheaping out because Patriot Place isn't doing well.

Looks like this one's inevitable.  Not a smart move.  Flame away, but no one can deny that his double-coverage frees up the rest of the passing game.

Sounds like he's taking his chances with the Vikings to go to the playoffs.  Favre will enjoy this.

But this better not be about draft picks.  How can this move possibly help the Pats right now?  WTH?

This rumor was started by ESPN.com writer Bill Simmons when he accidentally posted a Twitter  earlier Tuesday night about the possibility of the NFL superstar rejoining his former team.
"Rumors swirling about a Pats-Minny trade for Randy Moss," he tweeted. He soon deleted the tweet and said that it was supposed to be a private message, "Sorry that last tweet was supposed to be a DM.
So Simmons sends a private twitter about some Rumors and then the dorks at Fox sports and the Boston Herald run with it as if it was a fact.
