if some newbie wants to make presumptions that my avater is me, y not? it doesnt matter on a discussion board. as a rule of thumb, ALWAYS assume everyone is MALE on the internet until specifically convinced otherwise. i believe susan and mslithium per examples on the celtics board are both women for we've corresponded as friends and they've made many mentions to it in their posts. i chose not to go overboard with my identity. i'm not a moron. this board is an extention of life and society, had i started with an avatar featuring malcolm x or a swahili or kwanzaa symbol, that would have been the hole i would have limited to. i would have become a "one of them"..
had i wanted to communicate primarily around identity dynamics, i would be on the BLACK boston sports forum. i'm sure one of those exists somewhere, i just dont care to limit myself in that way. i do some things around my identity politics, i just dont want it to define everything that i do. i dont want to become a racial or gender or general identity kool-aiding choirboy where you're always in the echo chamber and get deluded that those are the only truths that actually exist in the world.
my goal for coming here is actually to share in discussions with ALL and grasp different points of view esp those who do not always connect with mine such as YOURS!
