Report: Jets not very interested in Adalius Thomas

The Newark Star-Ledger has reported that the New York Jets are interested in former Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas, but the Star-Ledger also has reported that the specific level of interest isn't known.

Gary Myers and Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News have provided us with an answer.

    Not very.

Per the Daily News, it's "doubtful right now" that the Jets would sign Thomas, who joined the Pats as a free agent in 2007.

Jets not interested in former Patriots linebacker?

As soon as Adalius Thomas was released yesterday by the Patriots, speculation that Thomas would quickly be signed by the Jets gained momentum. The veteran linebacker, after all, has always been a favorite of Rex Ryan, having played for him for six years in Baltimore, where he had his best seasons. Thomas knows Ryan’s defense inside and out. Thomas, too, could potentially help a Jets pass rush that struggled to get to the quarterback last season, finishing with a low sack total of 32. Despite the stars seemingly aligned for a Thomas-Ryan reunion, however, a highly-placed NFL source told The Post last night that the Jets’ interest in signing Thomas is “minimal.” — NY Post

Does it really matter? Without superstars around him such as Ray Lewis, he's just not that good

They're probably interested but at a discount rate. The Jets have spent a lot of cash this off-Season and probably don't want to throw 4 or 5 mil his way. There are probably teams that blame the Pats for his lack of productivity here and will pay a little better than the Jets can afford.

Bingo! Negotiating ploy by the team to drive down AT's price.
