Monday, September 7th, 2009 at 11:50 am in Oakland Raiders.
No sign of defensive lineman Richard Seymour, acquired for a first-round draft pick in 2011.
A few players quietly inquired as to whether there was any news about Seymour reporting.
“He’s got to get here,” one player said. “We need him. I don’t care if he’s mad. Maybe that will make him play even better.”
Coach Tom Cable will be available following practice.
The Raiders signed Roy Schuenig, cut by the St. Louis Rams, to the practice squad. He was a teammate at Oregon State with fellow practice squadder Slade Norris and has operated in a zone blocking scheme.
More to come later . . .

According to media reports in the Oakland Tribune and San Francisco Chronicle, the Raiders held a morning walkthrough today and Richard Seymour did not participate.
Raiders coach Tom Cable is expected to answer questions from Bay Area reporters today, and it is possible he might provide more information regarding Seymour.
There has been speculation that Seymour is considering not showing up.

I don't think that his not reproting has anything to do with whether the Patriots get the draft choice,he is not injured so it can't be voided by his not being able too participate, this is purely on Seymour good luck Oakland.

He's shown that he can be stubborn in the past, that he will do what he wants to do.
He held out in 2005 to have his final year re-negotiated.
He gave no "home discount" when re-signing.
If he's POed, he knows he can sit out the first ten games, which will negate the trade, and then report to the Patriots after the 10th week... 6 weeks is all that is required to reach FA in 2010.
